Georgetown Law Center, formally called the Georgetown University Law Center, is located in Washington D.C. just blocks from the United States Supreme Court and many other important governmental buildings. It is consistently rated among the top law schools in the country, currently 14th by U.S. News and World Report ; its part-time program is ranked 1st.

Tuition: $43,750 (full-time); $32,280 (part-time)

Application fee: $80

Application deadline: December 1 for Early Decision admission; February 1 for regular admission the following fall; March 1 for part-time program.

Applicants are advised to submit applications online through the Law School Admission Council (LSAC), but may also download a paper application at the school s Introduction to the J.D. Program .

Georgetown Law offers several joint degree programs. including the J.D./M.B.A. and the J.D./M.P.H. The law school also offers L.L.M. and S.J.D. degrees .

Georgetown Law offers several opportunities for 2Ls and 3Ls to study abroad in places like Germany, Portugal, Israel, Switzerland, Singapore, China, France, and more.

Georgetown Law has eleven student-run journals. including the Georgetown Law Journal. Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics. and the Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law Policy .

Along with many student organizations. the law school has specialized workshops, centers, and programs for specific legal interests, such as the Center on National Security and the Law, Center on Poverty, Inequality and Public Policy, and the Center for Law and the Public s Health.

A majority of Georgetown Law students take the New York State Bar Exam and, in 2007, achieved a 91% pass rate. The overall pass rate for the New York Bar Exam was 77%.

From the 2007 graduating class, 94.8% were employed at graduation and 97.8% were employed nine months after graduation. The median starting salary in the private sector was $135,000 and $50,000 in the public sector.
