Rumor, innuendo and gossip are things hard-news reporters generally avoid (as opposed to reporters on the celebrity beat). Most importantly, reporters do not have the right to libel the people they write about.
In other words, with great freedom comes great responsibility. Libel law is where the press freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment meet the requirements of responsible journalism.
What Is Libel?
Libel is published defamation of character, as opposed to spoken defamation of character. which is slander.

#The Law of Attraction - Making It Work
The law of attraction is not a new idea. It has always been here from ancient times, and people have always used it.
Hunters, who painted scenes of hunting on the walls of caves thousands of years ago, used the law of attraction, as well as contemporary businessmen, who visualize what they wish to accomplish. You use it too, whenever you think, make plans or daydream.
The Law of Attraction - Writers and Books
This subject entered the public's mind more than a hundred years ago. At that time, the term, the law of attraction was not used. The authors that wrote about it, called it the law of opulence, mental power, mental magic, the power of thoughts or creative visualization.
It is the same law, the same power, only with a different name.
Many years ago, William Walker Atkinson, Richard Ingalese, Opheil and many others, have written books on the power of the mind, and how to attract to you what

#The Law of Gifts Revisited
The law of gifts was set forth in the classic case of Gruen v. Gruen, 68 N.Y.2d 48, 505 N.Y.S.2d 849, 496 N.E.2d 869 (1986) . a case concerning the gifting of a painting by Gustav Klimt, the Austrian modernist.
The Court reiterated in Gruen that the elements of a valid inter vivos gift are intent on the part of the donor to make a present transfer, actual or constructive delivery to the donee, and acceptance by the donee (68 N.Y.2d at 53).
In a recent case, Mirvish v. Mott, 2010 NY Slip Op 4525; 2010 N.Y. App. Div. LEXIS 4442 (1st Dep t May 27, 2010) . the Appellate Division, First Department had occasion to expand on the concept of constructive deliver of another art object. In the Mirvish case, the gift of a sculpture by the noted artist, Jacques Lipschitz, called The Cry a/k/a The Couple was in issue. The sculpture was a 1,100 pound bronze and the gift was allegedly made by a family member of the arti

Legal market overview
Ukraine, ‘the breadbasket of Europe’, has economic bright spots in agriculture, pharmaceuticals and IT, as well as potential in renewable energy and retail, but all of this has been heavily impacted by fighting and political upheaval.

#The most common types of barking dog laws & animal control ordinances
This page is part of Section Three:
A Nutshell Description of the Most Common Types of Barking Laws
The two most common types of "anti-barking" laws are the multiple-household laws and the consecutive-disruption ordinances.
The Multiple Household Laws.
The multiple-household law is the catch-22 of animal control ordinances. According to that set of laws, the barking of your neighbor's dog is only deemed to be illegal after the case goes to court and a judge rules that it is so. The catch is that the court will not agree to hear your case unless you are first able to persuade some of the people from the neighboring households to join you in pursuing a legal case that is sure to be as contentious and upsetting as it is long and drawn-out.
But precious few people want to get involved in a big legal battle. So try as you may, the neighbors will almost neve

#The Law of Supply
The law of supply states that there is a positive relationship between the quantity that suppliers are willing to sell and the price level.
The law of supply is a fundamental principle of economic theory. It states that an increase in price will result in an increase in the quantity supplied, all else held constant.
The Law of Supply
Supply has a positive correlation with price. As the market price of a good increases, suppliers of the good will typically seek to increase the quantity supplied to the market.
The rationale for the positive correlation between price and quantity supplied is based on the potential increase in profitability that occurs with an increase in price.
All else held constant, including the costs of production inputs. the supplier will be able to increase his return per unit of a good or service as the price for the item increases. Therefore, the net return to the supplier increases as the spread or

#5 Questions to Ask When Choosing an MBA Entrepreneurship Program - US News
How a program integrates hands-on learning opportunities into the curriculum can vary, experts say.
Attending business school has traditionally been a way to advance in the ranks of an established company, but recently more students are electing to work for themselves soon after getting their degree.
Forty-five percent of alumni entrepreneurs from the classes of 2010-2013 started businesses at graduation, as compared with just 7 percent of alumni entrepreneurs who graduated before 1990, according to a March report from the Graduate Management Admission Council.
Many students in MBA programs select entrepreneurship as their focus to better prepare themselves for being employers, investors, inventors and other necessary roles that keep the world of entrepreneurship spinning.
Experts say learning opportunities available vary at different schools, but programs with a strong entr

#Online Law Schools Have Yet to Pass the Bar - US News
Many argue that fully online programs aren't the path to a traditional legal career.
Updated: 6/20/12
Enrolling in an online J.D. program may seem like a convenient alternative to spending three years and more than $100,000 on a traditional legal education. especially for working adults—but prospective students should be wary of the potential pitfalls, experts say.
Wholly online J.D. programs are not accredited by the American Bar Association, and graduates of the programs are eligible only to take the California Bar Exam, given that it's the only state in which online law schools can officially register (though some states have been known to make exceptions on an individual basis). In all, there are 12 unaccredited distance or correspondence law schools registered in California, including Concord Law School of Kaplan University, California School of Law, and the Abraham Lincoln Univer

#Which law firms will fund your LPC and GDL course fees and pay maintenance costs?
Of the firms advertised in TARGETjobs Law 2015, 46 sponsor their future trainees through the conversion course and LPC.
The promise of a generous salary is a tempting reason to become a trainee solicitor but the flipside is that qualifying is an expensive business. Non-law graduates need to cover conversion course (usually known as the CPE or GDL) fees, which range from £3,000 to £10,200 full time, and all graduates who want to become a trainee solicitor need to fund the legal practice course or LPC, which costs from £7,500 to £14,750 full time, depending on course provider and location. It’s wise to start thinking about how you’re going to finance this while still on your undergraduate degree.

LPC and GDL sponsorship from City law firms

#When Life Gives You Lemons.
When Life Gives You Lemons.
The Tesla Motors Team April 9, 2014
We were taken by surprise by a lemon law claim recently filed against Tesla by a Wisconsin lawyer, describing himself as the "Lemon Law King", who says that we ignored his client's three demands for a buy-back after alleged problems with a Model S.
First, let us state that we believe in lemon laws – they exist to protect customers against cars that repeatedly suffer defects. That's a worthy thing to address. We also make a point of going above and beyond in customer service, which extends to buying back cars on fair terms from any customer who ultimately remains unsatisfied with their vehicle. We never want someone to be unhappy in their ownership of a Model S.
In this case, however, there are good reasons to be skeptical of the lawyer's motivations. The service record shows that the Tesla service team did everything reasonably possible to help his client a

#What’s the Best Logo For Your Law Firm?
So you decided you want a new logo for your firm. But where do you go from there? Before you start thinking about colors and typefaces, let’s start with the fundamentals. In this post, I have outlined the 5 basic types of logos and included a visual guide you can download for your reference.
Wordmark
As indicated by the name, this type of logo features only text. However, that doesn’t make the word mark any less distinct. Oftentimes, a custom font is created or a visual element is integrated into the type to spell out the company name. On that note, it is also usually because the company name is so distinct and simple that stylizing the text is all that is needed to make the mark memorable. Examples: Facebook, Pinterest
Lettermark
Similar to word marks, lettermarks are only comprised of text as well. However, instead of the full company name, they feature the initials of the company. This type of
