Wow, this turned out to be a very dramatic episode and a sad ending. It s a case of a big mistake made in the past coming back to haunt a basically good person. The dirty people around him, especially a father-figure-type guy, all combine to ruin the man. I ve tried to be as general as possible, as to not spoil things even though I did put a spoiler-alert on the review.

Liv Schreiber did a decent job filling in for the absent Peterson. Michael Keppler, didn t have the warmth and appeal of Grissom, but he was tolerable. Several CSI people, including Catherine, seemed to like him a lot.

Len Cariou was excellent in the guest-starring role of Frank McCarty, a cop who knew Keppler back in his Trenton, New Jersey, days.
