The graduate Business School affiliated to the Cornell University is referred to as the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management. Cornell University is a private Ivy League University.

Johnson Business School was established in the year 1946 and is located in Ithaca, New York. The School was renamed in honor of Samuel Curtis Johnson Sr, founder of a global consumer products and chemicals company. Johnson Business School is also referred to as Cornell MBA, as its history is related to that of the Cornell University which was established in the year 1865.

Johnson School of business was initially known as the School of Business and Public Administration in 1946. At that time the School offered the MBA and MPA degrees to students. In 1983 the school was renamed again as Graduate School of Management and in 1984, Samuel Curtis Johnson Jr donated $20 million to the School, leading to the current name change.

Currently the Johnson School is situated in the Sage Hall and has 59 full time instructors. The Business School has nearly 544 MBA students and 170 Executive MBA students. Johnson School has nearly 11000 alumni around the world. Johnson Graduate School of Management is located on the main campus of the Cornell University. The Business School has ninety corporate partners and publishes the Administrative Science Quarterly journal.

The Academic programs on offer by Johnson School include – the standard full time MBA degree, Accelerated MBA program, off campus Executive MBA programs, dual degree programs, executive education programs and the PhD degree. The School also supports MBA exchange programs with more than twenty universities in Latin America, Europe and Asia.

Full time MBA program and the one year accelerated MBA program are offered at the Ithaca Campus of the School. Full time MBA program has course duration of 21 months including a summer internship. The full time MBA classes usually begin in the month of August and have two weeks of orientation activities. The joint degrees on offer by the Johnson School include – MBA-Master of Engineering, MBA-MD, MBA-MILR (Human resources), MBA-JD and MBA-MPS (Real estate) degree.

Executive MBA programs of the School include the Cornell-Queen’s Executive MBA program with weekend classes across North America using virtual classroom settings. The program is offered in partnership with Queen’s University, Ontario. The Cornell Executive MBA program uses traditional classroom teaching methods and is offered at the IBM Executive Education Center in New York.
