The value of the MBA goes beyond purely financial estimates, as the degree also offers great potential for personal and professional development, satisfaction, and achievement. GMAC collected data from nearly 4,000 alumni, as well as thousands of this year s graduating students and the employers planning to hire them and their feedback attests to the value of an MBA* degree.
Of course, your decision to earn an MBA is a highly personal one and frankly, the most compelling reasons for doing so lie not just i

#Top 5 Cheapest Law Schools (And 5 More Worth Attending) - Greedy Associates
By William Peacock, Esq. on January 22, 2014 12:12 PM
When it comes to the Juris Doctorate, do you get what you pay for?
That's a loaded question, obviously. Some might argue that with current job market. no one is getting what they paid for. That's why, if you're looking at joining the Class of 2017, the cost of your degree should be one of your biggest considerations (right next to graduates' success in the job market).
What are the five cheapest schools? And the cheapest schools worth attending.
Quick note: all data is courtesy of the ever-useful Law School Transparency's Non-Discounted Cost estimates, which are the projected debt owned at first loan payment. The assumptions, in regards to interest and tuition hikes, are available on LST's score reports site.
Also, this is obvious but is worth repeating: in-state schools are often cheaper. These are the n

#This Law Firm Doesn t Hire Ivy League Graduates
There s few doors that a Harvard law degree won t open for you, up to and including the oval office.
Though the opportunities for Ivy League law grads mights seem infinite to those of us with less elite pedigrees, there is one law firm that won t even consider hiring these folks.
In a blog post published this week on The Huffington Post, Adam Leitman, attorney and founding parter of real estate law firm Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C. writes that, In order to strive to become one of New York s best real estate law firms we do not hire law school graduates from Harvard, Yale, Cornell, Columbia or any of the other traditional highest tier schools.
Instead, Leitman hires from, the top of the classes of the second, third or fourth tier law schools. He finds that these graduates are, more ambitious and more hungry to excel in the legal profession. And that, They are hard-working and usually grew up wit

#Think twice
Think twice
Set your heart on an MBA? Philip Delves Broughton suggests a radical alternative: don t bother
Business schools have long sold the promise that, like an F1 driver zipping into the pits for fresh tyres, it just takes a short hiatus on an MBA programme and you will come roaring back into the career race primed to win. After all, it signals to companies that you were good enough to be accepted by a decent business school (so must be good enough for them); it plugs you into a network of fellow MBAs; and, to a much lesser extent, there s the actual classroom education. Why not just pay the bill, sign here and reap the rewards?
The problem is that these days it doesn t work like that. Rather, more and more students are finding the promise of business schools to be hollow. The return on investment on an MBA has gone the way of Greek public debt. If you have a decent job in your mid- to late- 20s, unless you have the back

#The World’s Best: Five Top EMBA Programs Compared
The business education landscape is dynamic and ever-changing at all levels. New EMBA programs are constantly emerging, while established programs change their focus to cater to the demands of industry and candidates.
However, this continually developing landscape can provide a challenge to the ambitious prospective EMBA candidate. Which program(s) to consider? How do programs differentiate themselves? And, perhaps most importantly, which programs have a curriculum that will remain relevant in changing economic times?
Executive MBA rankings are perhaps one of the most obvious means of narrowing down program choices, allowing for a comparison of programs over a set of established indicators. The recently-released (December 2014) Financial Times is one of the most-trusted.
So how do the top-five schools in the rankings actually compare?

#Thomas Cooley Law School s Reputation Is In The Dumps. So It s Thinking About Changing Its Name
from the beats-actually-improving dept
We've written a few times about the Thomas M. Cooley law school -- a 4th tier, bottom of the barrel law school known for letting in a very high percentage of the people who apply. and also for coming up with its own ranking system (which includes "total volumes in the library" and "total law school square footage" among other factors) that says it's one of the best law schools in the world. If you value square footage, I guess. It's also known for suing a bunch of its own students for being critical of the school.

Thousands of lives could be at risk after High Court courts judges ruled snooping powers were unlawful in a humiliating defeat for Theresa May.
They ruled that the surveillance powers, which allow access to phone and email records, should be limited to combating terrorism and serious crime.
But police chiefs and the Home Office warned that would mean officers would no longer be able to use the data to help trace vulnerable people such as those at suicide risk or missing children.
The power was used in around 16,000 such cases last year to prevent death or injury in an emergency situation , the Home Office said.

#This Is What Today s Online Learning Content Tells Us About The Future Of School
Today’s children are extremely savvy. They’ve grown up in a world where information was always just a button away. Buttons? Soon, they won’t even need buttons. With Windows 10, they’ll simply say, “hey Cortana.” She’s more like the world’s greatest librarian than a personal assistant. She delivers content on command. In the future, after children have mastered reading, writing, and arithmetic, will more formal schooling still be necessary?
Photographer: David Paul Morris/Bloomberg
I watch the way my own children (boys 7 and 10 years old) learn to play video games. They use Google to search for tips and tricks. They watch seemingly endless YouTube tutorials. Even when they’re trying to do something more complex, such as building their own Minecraft Server on a Raspberry Pi, I barely help. I tell them to search the web by themselves. If one blog’s instructions fail and they whin

#Tinted Windows
Tinted Windows
Before you decide to tint the windows of your vehicle, ensure that you are aware of the restrictions that apply.
- No material substance that darkens the glass may be applied or sprayed on the windshield. A strip no more than 15 cm wide may however be placed along the upper edge of the windshield;

The above tinting restrictions do not apply to the rear side windows or the rear window itself.

In Roe v. Wade, 410 U. S. 113 (1973), the U. S. Supreme Court determined that the Constitution protects a woman's decision whether or not to terminate her pregnancy. In a companion case, Doe v. Bolton, 410 U. S. 179 (1973), the Court held further that a state may not unduly burden a woman's fundamental right to abortion by prohibiting or substantially limiting access to the means of effectuating her decision. Rather than settle the issue, the Court's decisions kindled heated debate and precipitated a variety of governmental actions at the national, state and local levels designed either to nullify the rulings or hinder their effectuation. These governmental regulations have, in turn, spawned further litigation in which resulting judicial refinements in the law have been no more successful in dampening the controversy.
The law with respect to abortion in mid-19th century America followed the common law of England in all but a few states. By the time of the Civil

At China Law Blog, Dan Harris has advice for negotiating with Chinese business during periods of economic slowdown. There's a lot of useful insight here regarding cultural and political differences that can affect negotiation relationships, to wit:
There’s a filter bubble. Chinese bureaucrats and SOE bosses don’t see reality the same way American and European MNC managers do. Within China the official party line is that everything is going according to plan. It’s rebalancing and the expected results of a successful anti-corruption campaign. Everything is fine. Don’t assume that your Chinese counterparty is as nervous or anxious as you would be at the start of a sustained recession. He may still feel that time is on his side.
Harris, who has previously posted on issues with enforcing contracts in Chinese courts, posted earlier this week on a novel but untested idea for facilitating such enforcement: an "agreement to enforce" clause in which the parties con

#Trademark Law (BitLaw)
Trademark Law in the United States
Trademark law governs the use of a device (including a word, phrase, symbol, product shape, or logo) by a manufacturer or merchant to identify its goods and to distinguish those goods from those made or sold by another. Service marks, which are used on services rather than goods, are also governed by 'Trademark law.' In the United States, certain common law trademark rights stem merely from the use of a mark. However, to obtain the greatest protection for a mark, it is almost always advisable to register the mark, either with the federal government, if possible, or with a state government. A mark which is registered with federal government should be marked with the symbol. Unregistered trademarks should be marked with a tm , while unregistered service marks should be marked with a sm .
A mark is infringed under U.S. trademark law when another person uses a device (a mark) so as to cause confusion as to the
