On July 16, 2007, the Somerville City Solicitor (Gannon) showed up right before the Somerville Disabilities Commission was about to meet.

He claimed that proper Meeting Notice had not been submitted to the City Clerk's Office 48 hours prior to the meeting- and

brought this document of 3 xeroxed pages, stapled together as though this constituted relevant evidence for his claim.

What he brought: The language of MA General Laws, establishing that local Disability Commissions can be formed.

The Mayor and City Solicitor didn't want the Somerville Commission for Persons with DisAbilities to discuss creating a Forum on Inclusion for the Mayoral candidates that years. Therefore, the City Solicitor ambushed the Commission Chair, who did not have any opportunity to ask the City Clerk to verify that the Commission's properly formatted Meeting Notice, covering May through November 2007 Meetings, had been properly submitted to the City Clerk's office beforehand- in fact, at lunchtime on April 10, 2007.

Why did Mayor Curtatone task the City Solicitor with ensuring that the Commission didn't publicly assemble that day?
