#Vaccines
Almost every parent has questions about childhood vaccines, but nobody can offer complete, authoritative, unbiased answers. until now. In The Vaccine Book, Dr. Bob Sears explores the childcare question of the decade, Should you vaccinate your child?
Vaccines have become the most controversial topic for parents and doctors today. Most of you want to vaccinate your children, but you also want to know about the risks and side effects of the shots. You don't just want to be told, Vaccines are perfectly safe and none of the concerns you read about in the media and on the internet have been proven to be true. You want, and deserve, a fair, scientific and straightforward discussion of the shots you are giving your child.
You also want to know the risks of the diseases themselves. Which ones are most common and severe? Whi

#Surrogacy: legal rights of parents and surrogates.
If you use a surrogate they will be the legal mother of any child they carry.
Mother’s rights
The woman who gives birth is always treated as the mother in UK law and has the right to keep the child - even if they’re not genetically related. However, parenthood can be transferred by parental order or adoption .
Surrogacy contracts aren’t enforced by UK law, even if you’ve a signed deal with your surrogate and have paid for her expenses.
It’s illegal to pay a surrogate in the UK, except for their reasonable expenses.
Father’s rights
The child’s legal father or ‘second parent’ will be the surrogate’s husband or partner unless:
- legal rights are given to someone else through a parental order or adoption
- the surrogate’s husband or civil partner didn’t give their permission to their wife or partner

#Surrogate babies: Where can you have them, and is it legal? BBC News
Surrogacy laws vary from country to country, which can leave children vulnerable
The case of Gammy, a baby with Down's syndrome who was born to a Thai surrogate mother and allegedly left behind by the intended Australian parents, has caused international controversy. Where do people go to arrange for surrogate babies, and is it legal?
What is surrogacy?
Surrogacy is where a woman becomes pregnant with the intention of handing over the child to someone else after giving birth. Generally, she carries the baby for a couple or parent who cannot conceive a child themselves - they are known as "intended parents".
There are two forms of surrogacy. In traditional surrogacy, the surrogate mother's egg is used, making her the genetic mother. In gestational surrogacy, the egg is provided by the intended mother or a donor. The egg is fertilised through in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and then

#The Economist explains: The fight over India - s land laws
The fight over India s land laws
Apr 20th 2015, 5:36 by J.O S. | MUMBAI
INDIA’S parliament reopened today after a short break. The government led by Narendra Modi is trying to pass amendments to a 2013 land-acquisition bill through parliament’s upper house, where it lacks a majority. Under the existing bill, any forced sale of land requires the consent of at least 70% of affected owners and must also pass a social-impact test. Compensation is set at double the market value for urban plots and quadruple for rural land. The demands of the bill are a leading reason why investment projects are at a standstill. In December Mr Modi’s government issued a temporary executive order that did away with the consent clause for certain projects. The amended bill would make that change permanent. But the opposition Congress party claims that removing the consent clause rewards business interests at the expense

#Ten Signs You re Being Bullied At Work
Chances are if you work with others, youll be bullied at some point in your career.
In the U.S. where the practice is being studied, an estimated 37% of workers, or about 54 million people, have been bullied at the office, or repeatedly mistreated in a health-harming way, according to a 2007 Zogby International survey. The percentage balloons to 49% of workers, 71.5 million people, when witnesses are included.
The problem is, however, unless you’re at the receiving end of severe abuse, you’re unlikely to realize it.
Experts say there’s a general lack of awareness about the bullying and the types of behaviors the term encompasses. This often prevents people from realizing that a boss or co-worker is a bully. There’s also an element of personal shame involved.
“They’re sinking into a really bad state emotionally, finding it harder to go to work and it might even affect their job performance,” says David Yamada,

At Des Moines University, all of our students have the opportunity to learn how to not only recognize those complexities of global health but also be a part of the solution.

The Bible is the voice of God to men today. God speaks through His Word. They are evangelistic, seeking to bring to a saving faith in Christ Jesus the many hundreds from every walk in life. "
Dr. Criswell answers these gripping questions from the Bible from the Word of God itself. In a series of graphic illustrations from both the Old and New Testaments, he gives God's answer to these questions from His Word.

#The 10 Law Schools - Most Likely to - Make You a Lawyer - Bloomberg Business

#Texas Legal Ages Laws
Overview of Texas Legal Age Laws
Texas, as do many other states, recognizes 18 as the age of majority, at which point residents are legally considered adults (as opposed to minors ). But Texas legal ages laws also govern a minor's eligibility for emancipation, the legal capacity for signing a contract or consenting to medical treatment. Also, the legal age for alcohol consumption in all states is 21.
Emancipation of Minors in Texas
Texas law allows for the emancipation of minors in certain circumstances. Any minor petitioning a Texas court for emancipation -- that is, being declared an adult in the eyes of the law -- must be a Texas resident, 17 years old (or 16 and living apart from one's parents), and able to support and manage one's own affairs.
The minor seeking emancipation will have to state the following in his or her petition:

#The Difficulty of Getting a College Degree Online
Getting a college degree online is a fairly recent innovation in the world of higher education, and though it is becoming more usual and more easily done as technology becomes better and better able to handle distance education, the fact of self-motivation is still the number one problem when it comes to completing a college degree online.
Virtually all universities are now offering online courses, and some are offering an entire degree to be earned online. This seems to be a step up from the so-called online universities that only exist in cyberworld. Most people are much more comfortable getting a college degree online when it is coming from a university that physically exists and has existed for some number of years. These universities are accredited and have years of experience in designing degree programs and setting up requirements and standards. #The Best Paid MBA Concentrations - Poets and QuantsPoets and Quants
The Best Paid MBA Concentrations
There are three phases in any MBA decision-making process. First, you’ll evaluate the degree’s value. You’ll weigh the $200K (or more) you’ll forego in tuition and lost wages against bigger paychecks, which can go as high as $3 million dollars (or more) over a career. Then, you’ll compare programs by their networks and prestige, where the income difference between acceptance at Harvard or Notre Dame could be a million dollars or more over 20 years. But there’s still one more choice: What should I specialize in. Yes, that decision, too, could cost you $50K-$60K a year .
No pressure, right?

A pharmacy technician may attend up to 10 hours of in-service training of the 20 total required hours of continuing education every two years. The pharmacy tech must complete this continuing education under the direct supervision of the supervising pharmacist. In-service training may not consist of regular work duties, however. The pharmacist must assign special projects or training for the personal improvement of the certified technician.
Pharmacy technicians who do not complete all continuing-education requirements through in-house training and college courses must find additional training programs. #The Difficulty of Getting a Law Degree
Getting a law degree is no easy task; all the terrible things you ve heard are probably true, at least to some extent. The rewards of getting a degree in law may be great, but first you have to make it through a lot of years of seriously hard work. If you re up to the challenge, great! If you think you might not be up to the challenge now, don t waste your time; if you don t attack with a 115% CAN-DO attitude, you might not even make it through the first semester. Too many people try to get a law degree for reasons of prestige or reasons of fitting in with their families, not realizing what it is exactly that they re actually getting themselves into.
Although to be admitted to a law program in the United States you must have already completed a bachelor s degree, many people make the mistake of thinking that since they made it through four years of college, they can make it through three years of law school with the same ease. Those p

#The Civil Concord: A Peace Initiative Wasted - International Crisis Group
Africa Report N°31 9 Jul 2001
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The civil war between the Algerian army and Islamist guerrillas, sparked by the refusal of the military to recognise the electoral victory of the Islamic Salvation Front (FIS) in 1991, is not over. The Civil Concord Law, proposed by President Bouteflika in April 1999, approved by referendum in September the same year, and supported by the leaders of the FIS, has failed to convince the majority of the guerrillas to give up their arms and seek peace. No lasting political solution to this Islamist-military conflict has been found and the crisis threatens to spread to other parts of the community.
The Civil Concord law did create a genuine dynamic for peace in 1999. At first, the leaders of the FIS gave their public support to the President’s initiative, in exchange for certain promises by the military regime, nota

Oh Brian (Picture: ITV)
After 35 years of livening up our weekends with its endless round of surveys, Family Fortunes is still going strong. And no, it hasn t run out of questions yet.
But for every contestant who aces those questions, passes the 200 barrier and heads home with a big cheque and a new carriage clock, there s others both from the regular show and the All-Star edition whose answers on the show have left us scratching our heads in puzzlement.
Like, for example, these times when the show asked 100 people to

The Effect of Matrices in the Analysis of Mercury by ICP
Mercury analysis is one of the most difficult analyses by ICP and ICP/MS instrumentation.
Mercury standards are sold in nitric acid. However, nitric acid alone is not an ideal matrix for analysis. Diluted mercury standards in nitric acid matrix show a lot of variation when analyzed over a period of time. SPEX CertiPrep conducted a study on the effect of matrices in the analysis of Hg by ICP.
Solution preparation: NIST SRM 3131 was diluted to 100 mg/L in two different nitric acid concentrations, 10% HNO3 and 5% HNO3. These two solutions were further diluted to 2 mg/L on five different days in four different matrices as shown in Table 1
Solution analysis: Initial calibration was done using 2 mg/L Hg in 20% HCl/1% HNO3. Final analysis was done on all the diluted samples at the same date following completion of analysis of

To receive federal funding for schools, states must institute a bullying policy under federal law. This rule focuses mostly on discriminatory acts. For example, a Caucasian child in an all-black school might be protected by the federal guidelines if she s bullied on the basis of her race, whereas she might not be if she s tormented in an all-white school for reasons that don t qualify as discrimination. No federal law prohibits bullying itself, but the federal government mandates that schools must address persistent discriminatory behavior that turns a child s school into a hostile environment.
Pennsylvania s bullying policy loosely extends to acts that take place off school grounds. They must be of such a nature that they d be prohibited on school property as well, and they must take place in a school supervised location. If another child threatens your child at the bus stop, you may have a basis for legal action just as you would if it had happened on the school playgroun
