What is Stalking?

Stalking is the unwanted pursuit of another person, such as following a person, appearing at a person's home or place of business, making harassing phone calls, leaving written messages or objects, or vandalizing a person's property. By its nature, stalking is not a one-time event.

The individual's actions must be considered in connection with other actions to determine if someone is being stalked. It includes repeated harassing or threatening behavior toward another person, whether that person is a total stranger, slight acquaintance, current or former intimate partner, or anyone else.

Stalking Laws

Stalking is a relatively new crime now on the books in every state. Stalking laws in most states pertain to a relatively new crime involving a clear pattern of conduct in which the offender follows, harasses, or threatens another person, putting that person in fear for his or her safety. Now there are three choices when it comes to settling your divorce: litigation, mediation, or collaboration. Here s an introduction to this non-adversarial practice.

Share this page:

A new alternative to dispute resolution, "Collaborative Family Practice ", is now the third resource in a lineup consisting of litigation, mediation. and collaboration. And like mediation, its closest neighbor, it is distinguished from litigation by employing non-adversarial techniques.

If the parties can't reach agreement, then the lawyers must withdraw, and neither they nor any member of their firms may represent the clients in subsequent litigation. This is to ensure that there is no "holding back": the participants are committed to reaching a reasonable settlement, and there's no room to maneuver for litigation leverage. The lawyers' attitude, which they must demonstrate to their clients, is that there will be no cross-examination later -- not even a thought of it. The matter ... Read more »

Hi friends,

My name is Mikayla and I am 10. I have two sisters and two brothers.

My sister Maddie is 11, and my cousin Julia is almost 11. Last year Maddie and Julia got to go to camp for girls for a whole week at Pathfinder Ranch in Mountain Center, California.

They loved it. They learned about God and taking care of his animals.  They sang songs, went swimming and canoeing, archery, climbing, and a ton of other fun things for girls.

The picture is from when we picked up my sister and cousin after camp.  Maddie is wearing pink, Julia is wearing light blue, and I am wearing the blue shirt. We got to pet the horses, hold chickens and turkeys, and pet the goats and pigs.

Long Distance Law: Studying Law at Uni without being at Uni

Written by David

Law school is hard. While that might be the most self-evident statement ever typed, spare a thought for the law student completing their degree online. Although listening to lectures whenever you feel like it and being able to wear your pyjamas during “class” sounds really appealing (particularly if you’re sitting in a lecture at 9am on a Monday) distance study is not as easy as it seems.

I began studying for my law degree online and for the eighteen months of my three year JD course I barely saw a university building. Yes, I learnt equity and trusts sitting in bed wearing my Peter Alexander PJs. Even though I was extremely comfy, there was something that I was really lacking: interaction with other students.

I chose to study online due to the convenience. It allowed me to work while I studied, and yes, also beca ... Read more »

It is designed to provide you with the ability to increase your knowledge and expertise about a certain subject matter. The curriculum and required coursework for online courses is typically no different from a.

class taught on a college campus. In general, you should plan on dedicating about three hours each week to class time, plus extra time for participating in classroom discussions using message boards with instructors and classmates, as well as study time to work on your assignments. The duration of a course depends greatly on the school and the field of study; one course can usually be completed in a period of five to twelve weeks.

An online course offers you the opportunity to take a course and learn from any location with an Internet connection. The majority of online courses are asynchronous; instructors and students do not meet together at th ... Read more »

Admissions

Tuition and fees

Students at Loyola should be prepared to spend a considerable amount on their education. The school reports on their website that full-time tuition was $47,750 for full-time students and $31,975 for part-time students. With living expenses hovering a bit under $30,000 (Los Angeles isn't cheap!), students can end up spending roughly $77,000 a year to attend Loyola.

To help combat this debt, the school offers a number of its students grants and scholarships. In the school's most recent ABA data. 368 out of 1,287 total students received grant money. Fewer part time students received aid (only 34 out of 295) than full time students (334 out of 992). Lawyers play an integral role in the legal system and can specialize in various areas, including divorce, bankruptcy, environmental law and criminal defense. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, it generally takes seven years of study. After obtaining a law degree, the lawyer must take the bar test specific to the state where he will practice.

In many cases, federal and state judges are required to hold law degrees and pass a legal examination. Judges oversee the legal process, apply the law to disputes and ensure that trials are conducted fairly.

Lawyers sometimes turn to lobbying as a lucrative and profitable industry. Lobbyists are paid to promote special interests to lawmakers in an effort to affect voting and decision-making.

#Making the Decision to Attend Law School - Health Professions and Prelaw Center - Indiana University - University Division

What is Law School Like?

Can I be sure I want to be a lawyer?

I. What is Law School Like?

The following was written by Steven Lawrence, Jr. a Duke graduate who received his law degree from the University of Chicago:

The law student must be ready and willing to meet one of the biggest challenges that he will ever face. Law school is a full-time business. By full-time, I mean a minimum of 10 hours a day, every day of the week. It is quite exhaustive, particularly during the first year. There is a new vocabulary to learn, and a new way of thinking. As the faculty is fond of saying, law students also have to learn to read for the first time in their lives. In law, every word is of crucial importance; you don't read just to get the general gist of the material. This point came across to me the first day of law ... Read more »

Attorneys, also referred to as lawyers, are responsible for representing and advising their clients in disputes and other legal matters. Clients may include individuals or groups such as families, companies or government departments. They are generally expected to be persuasive and good at communication in order to present arguments and win legal disputes for their clients. Attorneys typically specialize in one specific area, such as family law. criminal law. probate law, corporate law. intellectual property, or real estate. While most attorneys work in corporate offices, many also work for government agencies.

Attorneys must have a graduate level law degree from a school approved by the American Bar Association in order to practice law. Degree programs typically end with a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree. Most law degree programs require both a four-year undergraduate degree and a passing score on the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). After successful completion of law school ... Read more »

Law is a system of rules a society sets to maintain order and protect harm to persons and property. Such systems are ancient, dating back at least to the Code of Hammurabi. written by an ancient Babylonian king around 1760 BC. Today, most countries have tens or hundreds of thousands of pages of laws. They are enforced by the police, supported by the court and prison systems. Laws are written by legislators, such as senators or congressmen. In America and many other countries, these rules must uphold and not contradict the Constitution, a document outlining the most basic rules of the country.

Aside from law being a set of rules, the word also refers to the profession practiced by lawyers, who either prosecute or defend a client from an accusation of violating the law. Becoming a lawyer requires attending law school and passing a bar exam. This entitles the lawyer to a license. Only lawyers with a license are allowed to practice.

There are many categories of law. Thes ... Read more »

#The Most Important Question of Your Life

Everyone wants to live a carefree, happy and easy life, to fall in love and have amazing sex and relationships, to look perfect and make money and be popular and well-respected and admired and a total baller to the point that people part like the Red Sea when you walk into the room.

Everybody wants to have an amazing job and financial independence — but not everyone wants to s ... Read more »
