#Northwestern Law - TLS wiki
Known as an innovative, business-oriented law school, Northwestern Law offers more to its students than just a prime central Chicago location. With its well-established preference for students with work experience and demonstrated interpersonal skills, the school fosters a professional environment. Employment statistics, though relatively solid, are weaker than most of the traditional top 14 law schools. The total cost of attendance, however, is second-highest, behind only Berkeley for out-of-staters.
One 2L said: "The student body is excellent, most of which has done something interesting before law school. Students tend to bring interesting perspectives into the classroom as a result, and I think this is a major advantage over schools primarily composed of people straight through from undergrad."
Northwestern Law places a heavy emphasis on global enterprises and practical learning and has highly regarded study abroad, clinical, and int

Capital punishment, or the death penalty, was legalized at the federal level by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1976 (Gregg v. Georgia ) after having been temporarily suspended since 1972. Most states, including Missouri, use capital punishment but only for particularly heinous crimes involving murder. But the exoneration of several death row inmates through DNA evidence and concerns over lethal injection drugs have prompted some states to institute moratoriums or bans on the practice.
Missouri capital punishment laws restrict the sentence to those 16 and older who have committed a capital homicide. In Missouri, a capital homicide includes one committed by an individual with a prior conviction for first-degree murder; committed while attempting to escape arrest; or committed while engaged in another felony offense, to give a few examples. The state also has the authority to sentence a convict to death if a murder was part of a pattern of criminal street gang activity.

All of the States and territories of Australia that are self-governing are separate jurisdictions. and have their own system of courts and parliaments. The systems of laws in each State are influential on each other, but not binding. Laws passed by the Parliament of Australia apply to the whole of Australia.
The organized system of law and government now in force in Australia is historically dependent for its legal validity on a series of British statutes. notably including the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act 1900. The authority of the United Kingdom Parliament to enact those statutes depended on the acquisition of the Australian continent as a territorial possession of the British Crown .
Although the laws of the Australian colonies differed from England in many respects from the beginnings of white settlement, the underlying patterns of thought reflect the common law tradition as received from Britain .

Auto tinting installed on the windows of Mississippi plated vehicles must allow at least 28 percent of sunlight into the vehicle. The car's windshield must not have any tinting applied to it except for a narrow band across the top that vehicle manufacturers call the "AS-1 line." Mississippi highway patrol officers assess tinted auto glass by measuring each vehicle's visible light transmission percentage. If the tinting fails to let more than 28 percent of the light in, the vehicle won't receive a state vehicle inspection sticker.
Section 63-7-59, Article 3 of the Mississippi allows vehicle window tinting of any degree if a driver suffers from any disease that "is aggravated by minimum exposure to sunlight." Drivers must produce a sworn statement by a licensed doctor in order to be exempted from the window tint laws.

#Oakland Raiderettes: Cheerleaders celebrate new laws that mean they will be treated as employees - Americas - World - The Independent
They look like they are living out a teen dream. But in a raft of lawsuits over the past 18 months, America’s cheerleaders have been exposing the poor pay and questionable treatment they receive from many of the National Football League teams.

Law school is tough. At times you may get so wrapped up in the minutia of writing a perfect legal advocacy memo, or you may be pulled in many directions trying to understand the Erie Doctrine, or you may find your eyeglass prescription has changed from all of the endless readings.
1L year moves fast, incredibly fast.
When I first came to BC Law, my favorite question to ask 2Ls and 3Ls was: “what was your release from law school?”
For some, it was binge-watching shows on Netflix. For others it was taking up a new hobby like rock climbing, building a new skillset like cooking, working out, or eating a pound of ice cream. The takeaway was that whatever your release: enjoy it, indulge in it, and let it revive you.
So in a moment when I was stressed out and started to lose sight of why I was in law school, I took a deep breath, put on some Frank Sinatra tunes, and pulled out a canvas and began to paint.
Dear College Seniors,

A 2007 study in The New England Journal of Medicine found that the vast majority of doctors have some kind of relationship with with a pharmaceutical or medical-device company. Most of the time, the ties involved free food or drug samples. Dozens of studies have demonstrated that even innocuous-seemin

#questions about global warming
#How should a Christian view global warming?
Question: How should a Christian view global warming?
Answer: As Christians, we should be concerned about our effect on our environment. God appointed man to be the steward of this world (Genesis 1:28), not the destroyer of it. However, we should not allow environmentalism to become a form of idolatry, where the “rights” of an inanimate planet and its non-human creatures are held in higher esteem than God (Romans 1:25) and man created in His image. With global warming, as with any other topic, it is crucial to understand what the facts are, whom those facts come from, how they are interpreted, and what the spiritual implications are.
A careful look at global warming, as a topic, shows that there is a great deal of disagreement about the facts and substance of climate change. Those who blame man for climate change often disagree about what facts lead them to

The law is a fundamental part of society's politics, economics and culture - giving a support for relationships between individuals, companies, the government, and its agencies. The decision to become a lawyer is a highly personal one, based on a number of factors that you must take into account.
Law career is a strict academic subject, here are some interesting characteristics:
Accuracy. there's no room for ambiguity in legal argument; you'll be the class of person who gets directly to the point.
Clarity of thought and the ability to place. analyse and express complicated ideas: the oral argument is a very little part of law school life and for the immense majority of lawyers; it's a quite little part of their training.
Persuasiveness. the law brings to light a point of view.

There are two parts; one can classify the educational level of the degree: "B" stands for bachelor's degree ; "M" stands for master's degree ; and "D" stands for doctoral degree. The second part denotes the discipline of the degree, like "S" for science, "A" for arts, or "Ph" for Philosophy.
Depending on the school you attend and the kind of courses you take, you could earn an arts degree or a science degree. Typically, an "arts" degree means that you focused on a wide area of learning and discussion, while a "science" degree implies a deep, technical understanding of your subject.
The highest degree you can earn in most liberal arts disciplines is a PhD, or Doctor of Philosophy. However, clinical and counseling psychologists earn a PsyD, Doctor of Psychology nomenclature; medical students earn M.D. degrees; and law students can earn J.D. (Juris Doctorate) degrees.
Distinctive nomenclature are named after applied disciplines, include Master of Social Work (MS
