W.A. Criswell is pastor of the First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas, where he succeeded the late famous Dr. George W. Truett. This church is probably the largest church in the South land and boasts in its membership the world's leading evangelist, Billy Graham. Dr. Criswell received his B.A. degree from Baylor University, Waco, Texas, in 1931. He received his Master of Theology degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1934; and his Ph.D. from Southern Seminary in 1937. He was awarded the honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Baylor University in 1945.
