#MBA Fast Track in Finance The Fast Track in Finance prepares you to succeed in careers requiring analytical thinking and financial acumen. You will progress through relevant courses quickly to enable you to successfully compete for internships requiring these skills. CurriculumThis highly selective program offers the best of both worlds: you begin finance courses as soon as you start at Ross, while still taking full advantage of the signature aspects of our general management core curriculum. By excelling in the summer finance online program and obtaining permission to waive the core accounting course (ACC 502). you take the accelerated Financial Analysis core course (FIN 513) during the fall A term of your first year. In fall B, you take the case-based course Valuation (FIN 615). These two required courses are taught by Professor Gautam Kaul . You may then take optional courses like Financial Modeling (FIN 575). which covers modeling financial statements, as well as valuation of leverage buyouts and other transactions using Excel; and other elective finance courses that are available to all students. Beyond the ClassroomAt Ross, you learn by doing. We offer many ways for you to gain hands-on experience in business and finance to hone your analytical and financial skills and accelerate your career path: Choose a MAP project involving data-driven, complex analytics, and financial analysis. Take advantage of the Tozzi Finance Center. which provides data sets and tools to conduct deep analysis and replicates an electronic trading floor. Get involved with student clubs that bring in guest lecturers to speak about cutting-edge trends and experiences in the industry. Examples of these clubs include finance. consulting. general management. and more . Career ServicesRoss Career Services provides many resources to ensure your success with interview preparation, pursuing internships, and post-graduation employment. The FTF program collaborates with Career Services, student clubs, and the Alumni Relations Office to sponsor educational and career-related events outside the classroom. Current students in the FTF program secured internship opportunities in a variety of industries and firms including Amazon, Apple, Bain, Barclays, BCG, Citi, JP Morgan, Microsoft, PepsiCo, United Health, and more. Admission to the Fast Track in Finance program is highly selective and not everyone who applies will be admitted. Performance in the summer online program and the accounting waiver process, in addition to your previous academic credentials and work-related experience, will be used to judge your fit for the program. Students admitted to the Fast Track in Finance program will receive permission to enroll into FIN 513 - the gateway course of the program - in mid-August, 2015.
