#Legal Advice Centre Established in 2000, the Legal Advice Centre (LAC) offers reliable legal advice whilst providing practical experience for our law students, supervised by legal practitioners. It is managed by our Director, Mrs Dinah Crystal OBE (Solicitor), and Deputy Director, Mr Neil Allen (Barrister), with the support of local lawyers and academic staff. The Centre provides free, strictly confidential legal advice to members of the public (including University staff and students). In October 2009 our second Legal Advice Centre was launched in The Settlement in East Manchester by Michael Mansfield, one of the UK's most well known lawyers. The LAC is further assisted by the Manchester Law Society and the Northern Bar Circuit, and we are also a Clinic of LawWorks. Our work has also been awarded the Advice Quality Stand s Quality Mark for General Help.
