If you re organized, methodical, and interested in upholding the ideals of justice in society, you should consider earning a criminal law degree. Criminal lawyers prosecute or defend people who are suspected of committing a crime. They present evidence, argue on behalf of their client, and provide legal advice. As such, graduates will have a strong understanding of criminal law, the criminal justice system and its procedures, and they should have the ability to successfully defend their argument in the court room.
Classes and Assignments of a Criminal Law Major
It s important to note that online associate criminal law degrees are rare. Instead, many law schools offer concentrations in criminal law as part of a complete law degree. Since it s necessary for criminal law specialists to understand the criminal justice system, students may take criminal justice administration, criminal procedure, international criminal law, juvenile justice, and white col

The Law of Capital your most valuable asset, in terms of cash flow, is your physical and mental capital, your earning ability.
Your Earning Ability
The first corollary of the Law of Capital says: Your most precious resource is your time. Your time is really all you have to sell. How much time you put in and how much of yourself you put into that time, largely determines your earning ability. Poor time management is one of the major reasons for poor productivity and underachievement in every industry in America. It is the number one problem for both managers and salespeople in every field.
Invest Yourself Carefully
The second corollary of the Law of Capital says: Time and money can be either spent or invested. One of the smartest things that you can do is to invest three percent of your earnings every month back into yourself on personal and professional development, on becoming better at the most

A League of Its Own: Cornell Law School
(L-R) Ari Diaconis 14 and Lynne Kolodinsky '14
The Cornell Law Library announced that Ari Diaconis 14 and Lynne Kolodinsky 14 were the first- and second-place recipients of the Robert Cantwell Prize for Exemplary Student Research.
Diaconis cast a wide net in compiling his research for The Religion of Alcoholics Anonymous: Applying the Clergy Privilege to Certain AA Communications. drawing from over 180 sources including in-person interviews, Bible scripture and empirical studies while also using traditional legal research and analysis.
Diaconis argued for the application of the clergy privilege to Alcoholics Anonymous ( AA ) by constructing a detailed history of AA from its origins to present day, relying on a variety of primary and secondary sources including interviews with current members. He then used that historical research to argue that AA constitutes a religion under Supreme Cou

International trade law is the body of laws and agreements that governs how countries do business with each other. The economic health of many countries depends, at least in part, or the ability to import and export goods. International trade laws set out the parameters for how these trades take place. Most of the time, the laws are designed to ensure fairness to all parties, as well as to create something of a globally uniform and predictable set of rules.
There are three primary types of international trade law. The first is national: any country that makes its own internal rules about how trade will be conducted with other countries, or regulates how much of a certain resource can be exported, has created an international trade law. Second is bilateral. When two countries together agree to conduct their trade in a certain way, or to open trade freely between their borders, they create a bilateral trade agreement or trade law. Finally, countries often engage in multilatera

The Universal Laws You must Know To Manifest
UNIVERSAL LAWS
Is it possible we have to change everything in order to have real happiness and infinite abundance? We have to turn everything around and up side down.
As children we learn to look to the outside world and others to tell us how we feel and are doing. An example is how we are taught to look at grades received in school. On getting a low grade we are taught we are not doing well. Many people have beliefs about grades that they carry through life deciding if they are smart or not. Really all a grade means is that on that day, and that hour you were tested you were not at your best. An A grade shows and means nothing about you. The universal law is that we all have limitless Potential inside of us. It cannot be wrong, or only a few people have it. It is not limited to A grades. It is within all of us and the only question is are we expressing it?
We are taught that everything is limited and to c

Advice for Getting Into Law School
Admission to law school is very competitive. Consider Arizona State Law School. I offer this hypothetical as an example of what happens at law schools generally. What I'm going to say here about Arizona State could be said about every law school in the country.
Arizona State is a good school, ranked 53rd in the nation (out of 187 law schools). Each year, Arizona State has an entering class of about 500 law students. For those 500 seats in its first-year law class, Arizona State receives over 7,000 applications. About 1,400 (20%) of the 7,000 applicants will be admitted, since some people will be accepted at many law schools and will turn down Arizona State's offer of admission.
Now, imagine that I'm a member of the Admissions Committee at Arizona State Law School. My job on the Admissions Committee is to accept only those applicants about whom I can make a reasonable prediction of satisfactory performance in law school. But

For the LBers who have been following the rising cost of law school tuition and debt, University of Massachusetts School of Law has proposed a bold solution: cap tuition for the next three years.
That means the new schools full-time in-state tuition will hold steady at $23,068 and its full time out-of-state tuition at $30,760.
The establishment of UMass Law is about mission, not money, said UMass President Robert Caret on the school website.
The move may also be borne out of necessity. A brutal legal job market has given way to a steep drop in law school applications. UMass, which opened its doors in after acquiring $23 million of assets from the Southern New England School of Law, could have a hard time filling seats if the market doesnt improve.
The American Bar Association gave the school provisional accreditation earlier this month. According to the February Massachusetts bar exam results, not a single first-time test-taker from UMass passed the b

The U.S. Department of Justice recently reported that almost 1.1 million dedicated men and women now serve in local and state law enforcement agencies, including more than 765,000 sworn police officers. This represents a ratio of one state or local law enforcement official to every 400 U.S. residents. As the number of law enforcement jobs has increased in recent years, new opportunities have surfaced for those interested in becoming police officers, deputy sheriffs and state troopers.
The position of law enforcement agencies within each state’s governmental structure influences the duties of its personnel. As such, a state trooper is likely to have broader powers and responsibilities than a local police officer. Although local police departments typically yield to county and state agencies, there are a number of metropolitan police departments across the country that take the lead in major operations and investigations. Some states have opted to give municipal police depar

At a women s prison in Nairobi, Kenyan inmates are taking the law into their own hands. Law classes have helped inmates launch their own appeals and defend themselves in court.
In a classroom behind bars, three inmates and a prison officer learn the basics of common law.
Inmate Rose Musyoki said these classes have given her the chance of a lifetime.
It has been my childhood dream to do law, but due to some unavoidable circumstances like lack of finance, I ve not been able to do it, said Musyoki. So when this chance came in I gave it a trial, and now I m in it, I m doing it.

Family law is a comprehensive body of law that deals with family relationships. It stipulates the rights and obligations of parties in domestic relations. Family law covers a wide range of topics, including marriage, divorce, child custody, visitation, alimony, and adoption.
Marriage, civil union, and domestic partnership are different kinds of legal statuses recognized by family law. Marriage is a legal relationship between two persons, in which the parties, the husband and the wife, are bound by the rights and obligations stipulated in the marital contract. A civil union is a legal relationship between a same sex couple. Civil unions are also known as civil partnerships. The rights and obligations in a civil union are similar to those in a marriage. A 1031 Real Estate Exchange
Any real estate property owner or investor should consider a 1031 exchange when acquiring a replacement like kind property subsequent to the sale of his existing investment property. The basics behind a 1031 exchange is the strategy and method for selling one property, and then buying another property within a specific time frame in order to defer the payment of a capital gains tax (which is currently 15%). The entire transaction is treated as an exchange and not just as a simple sale.
There are two requirements in a 1031 like-kind exchange:
- The total purchase price of the replacement like-kind property must be equal to, or greater than the total net sales price of the relinquished real estate property.
- All the equity received from the sale of the relinquished property must be used to acquire the replacement like kind property.
If the price of the replacement property is less than t

Graduate School of Business Knight Management Center
Stanford’s Graduate School of Business has leapfrogged the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and Columbia Business School to become the most expensive two-year MBA program in the world, according to an analysis by Poets Quants. This year Stanford is telling applicants that the estimated cost of its two-year, full-time MBA program is a whopping $185,054, a new record.
That is some $18,242 more than Stanford said it would cost an MBA student only two years ago when Columbia was the school with the most expensive MBA program in the world. At that time, Columbia estimated that the cost to attend its MBA program was $168,307, while third-place Stanford’s price tag was $166,812. In just two years, Stanford’s estimated cost of the degree has risen by 10.9%, though the estimate includes a $4,000 global study trip.

Specular reflection (a.k.a. Law of Reflection )is the mirror-like reflection of light (or sometimes other kinds of waves) from a surface, in which light from a single incoming direction (a ray) is reflected into a single outgoing direction. Such behavior is described by the law of reflection.Which states that the direction of incoming light (the incident ray), and the direction of outgoing light reflected (The Reflected Ray) make the same angle with respect to the surface normal, thus the angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection; this is commonly stated as ?i = ?r. A second defining characteristic of specular reflection is that incident, normal, and reflected directions are coplanar. This behavior was first discovered through careful observation and measurement by Hero of Alexandria (c. 10–70 AD).
This is in contrast to diffuse reflection, where incoming light is reflected in a broad range of directions. The most familiar example of the distinction between sp

Divorce rates are on the rise in the United States, with approximately half of all marriages ending in divorce. Divorce is undoubtedly a difficult emotional and financial process for all parties involved. To aid in the termination of marital unions, all states have established divorce laws.
Primarily governed by individual states, divorce laws that apply in one state may not necessarily apply in another. States sometimes have similar divorce laws, especially with regard to issues of spousal support and alimony, child custody, and property division. However, divorce laws can vary tremendously when it comes to filing procedures, child support, divorce grounds, and residency requirements. If you are considering divorce, a caring and qualified divorce attorney can help you understand the divorce laws in your state.
Under divorce law, there are two types of divorce contested and uncontested. Contested

As of 2007, about 6.8 million American students with special needs and disability received special education services. Laws and legislation go back to the mid-1970s. There are two main laws concerning the education of children with special needs.
The Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA)
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) was originally called the Education for the Handicapped Act (EHA) of 1976. You can think of it as our nation's special education law. Its purpose is to guarantee a Free and Appropriate Education (FAPE) for all children from age 5 through 21 with disabilities. Services must be free.
A personalized education program is to be given to everyone eligible for special education. Parents should be involved, including when an evaluation, identification and placement of the child are involved. EHA stipulates that children should receive education in the least restrictive environment.
