A family lawyer is someone who specializes primarily in handling legal matters surrounding the family unit. Divorce and child custody are the most obvious reasons people think of needing a family lawyer. However, family lawyers handle a variety of matters including, adoption, marriage annulments (as opposed to divorce), paternity and prenuptial agreements. Especially for gay and lesbian couples, family lawyers can also assist with cohabitation agreements and domestic partner registration. Family lawyers may also handle estate planning by creating wills and trusts.
To specialize in family law, new attorneys typically go to work for an established solo practitioner or law firm that offers family law services. It is rare that a recent bar exam passer starts his own practice. However, even if a lawyer only accepts family law cases, many states will not allow an attorney to advertise that she "specializes" in family law unless the attorney has practiced in family law for a specif

Law school is tough. At times you may get so wrapped up in the minutia of writing a perfect legal advocacy memo, or you may be pulled in many directions trying to understand the Erie Doctrine, or you may find your eyeglass prescription has changed from all of the endless readings.
1L year moves fast, incredibly fast.
When I first came to BC Law, my favorite question to ask 2Ls and 3Ls was: “what was your release from law school?”
For some, it was binge-watching shows on Netflix. For others it was taking up a new hobby like rock climbing, building a new skillset like cooking, working out, or eating a pound of ice cream. The takeaway was that whatever your release: enjoy it, indulge in it, and let it revive you.
So in a moment when I was stressed out and started to lose sight of why I was in law school, I took a deep breath, put on some Frank Sinatra tunes, and pulled out a canvas and began to paint.
Dear College Seniors,

The law is a fundamental part of society's politics, economics and culture - giving a support for relationships between individuals, companies, the government, and its agencies. The decision to become a lawyer is a highly personal one, based on a number of factors that you must take into account.
Law career is a strict academic subject, here are some interesting characteristics:
Accuracy. there's no room for ambiguity in legal argument; you'll be the class of person who gets directly to the point.
Clarity of thought and the ability to place. analyse and express complicated ideas: the oral argument is a very little part of law school life and for the immense majority of lawyers; it's a quite little part of their training.
Persuasiveness. the law brings to light a point of view.

The line between "legal advice" and "legal information" is often blurred. As a general matter, only a lawyer may give actual legal advice, whereas any non-lawyer may recite legal information. Furthermore, it is generally illegal for a non-lawyer or unlicensed attorney to offer legal advice or otherwise represent someone other than himself or herself in a court of law.
Unlike legal information, legal advice refers to the written or oral counsel about a legal matter that would affect the rights and responsibilities of the person receiving the advice. In addition, actual legal advice requires careful analysis of the law as it applies to a person's specific situation - as opposed to speculation based on generic facts.
From a legal standpoint, the giving of legal advice is tantamount to the practice of law, and only a licensed attorney with whom one has formed an attorney-client relationship with may give actual legal advice. Because of the obligations that arise from the

The foreclosure process varies somewhat from state to state, and depends primarily on whether the state uses mortgages or deeds of trust for the purchase of real property. Generally, states that use mortgages conduct judicial foreclosures; states that use deeds of trust conduct non-judicial foreclosures. The principal difference between the two is that the judicial procedure requires court action on a foreclosed home.
The below table represents our current knowledge of which states use mortgages (judicial) or deeds of trust (non-judicial) or both. The table also includes estimated foreclosure timelines for each state. Please check with your local county government to verify this information. Inform us of any errors at info@realtytrac.com.

Exponents are short forms used to represent a set of repeated factors.
$3^<6>$ is used to represent 3 multiplied to itself six times. i.e 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3. In $3^<6>$, the number 3 is called the Base and the number 6 is called the exponent or power.
The exponent is defined as a number which is used to represent the number of times a given number has to be multiplied by itself. Exponents could also be defined as the operation in raising a particular number to a power in multiplication and in which all the factors are equal.
The expression of 8 $^<3>$ means that three 8’s are to be multiplied with each other. Similarly, 6 $^<2>$ would mean 6 x 6. The relevant power of any particular number is the number by itself.
The power is defined as the number of times the number is to be taken as one of the factor. The method of finding a root is nothing but the inverse of raising a number to a power.

To receive federal funding for schools, states must institute a bullying policy under federal law. This rule focuses mostly on discriminatory acts. For example, a Caucasian child in an all-black school might be protected by the federal guidelines if she s bullied on the basis of her race, whereas she might not be if she s tormented in an all-white school for reasons that don t qualify as discrimination. No federal law prohibits bullying itself, but the federal government mandates that schools must address persistent discriminatory behavior that turns a child s school into a hostile environment.
Pennsylvania s bullying policy loosely extends to acts that take place off school grounds. They must be of such a nature that they d be prohibited on school property as well, and they must take place in a school supervised location. If another child threatens your child at the bus stop, you may have a basis for legal action just as you would if it had happened on the school playgroun

In California, however, 60 college credits and 864 hours per year of correspondence law classes (not accredited) enable you to qualify to take the bar.
