The bill had the public support of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), other local law enforcement agencies, as well as the conservatives. Parts of the bill were strongly opposed by others because in their minds, the bill created too much power for police in the surveillance of Canadian citizens without proper oversight. The opposition proposed that privacy rights need to be considered more carefully.
In spite of the opposition, the bill passed in Parliament. Going forward, it remains to be seen if the concerns of those who opposed the bill manifest into the problems they envisioned.
This review summarizes particular excerpts from Bill C-13 that specifically relate to the additions to laws about cyberbullying and gives an overview of the current state of pre-existing cyberbullying laws in Canada.
Here are the provisions of Bill C-13 that now became part of the Canadian cyberbullying law:

Ask a Business Lawyer Part 24 Difference Between Licensing Franchising
TO LICENSE OR FRANCHISE. THAT IS THE QUESTION.
Understanding the Differences between Licensing and Franchising. that is the challenge.
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it’s a duck. Similarly, if a deal is structured like a franchise and/or operates like a franchise, it’s likely a “franchise,” and if so, franchise laws must be complied with, regardless of what you call the deal (i.e.. even if you choose to call it a “license,” not a “franchise”). Misrepresenting the deal, misunderstanding the deal and failure to comply with necessary laws, could result in civil and criminal penalties for persons and businesses involved.
Distinguishing between a license and a franchise can be very confusing; until you realize that a franchise, is a deal that involves a license and falls within the sco

#California Family Law Lawyers - Compare Top Family Law Attorneys in California
Dealing with family law issues?
Family law generally concerns domestic relations and family-related matters such as marriage, civil unions, domestic partnerships, adoptions, paternity, guardianships, domestic abuse, surrogacy, child custody, child abduction, the dissolution of marriage and associated issues. Each state has its own set of family laws, and traveling across state borders can sometimes affect your rights and those of your family.
Contrary to popular belief, seeking the advice of a family law attorney does not necessarily mean that something is amiss in your family. A California family law attorney can help negotiate prenuptial/premarital agreements for clients in anticipation of marriage or advise same-sex couples on relevant legal issues affecting their relationship. They also can help with adoption proceedings and other procedures involving children.

#Opinion: Should the U. S. be more like Mexico?
Story highlights
Ruben Navarrette hears some nonsensical solutions to the U.S. immigration problem He says one of the worst is that U.S. adopt a harsh immigration policy like Mexico's Navarrette: Mexico's bad economy, other woes are related to keeping immigrants out He asks whether we want a nation people want to leave, and where immigrants are despised
As the immigration debate moves to the House of Representatives, Americans are fully engaged. Is it too much to ask that they also be fully informed?
Not many are. They have strong opinions on a subject they don't really understand. They know what they believe, but they long ago stopped asking themselves why they believe it. Worst of all, as bad as the immigration problem is, some of the solutions they propose range from the nonworkable to the nonsensical.
One proposed remedy sticks out as the nuttiest of all. In fact, if you love this countr

This article relates to the profession as practiced in the United States. For a more general discussion, see Lawyer. For discussion of powers granted to an Attorney-in-Fact, see Power of attorney .
A lawyer in the United States is technically called Attorney at Law. However, in some of the states, a lawyer is technically called Attorney and Counsellor at Law .
In the U.S. lawyers are most frequently referred to in everyday speech as "lawyers" or "attorneys". Technically speaking, an "attorney" is simply one who acts on behalf of another. The correct title is "Attorney-at-Law" and indicates a person who is trained, and legally permitted, to act on behalf of a client.
In earlier times, some states, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court, maintained a divided legal profession as can be found in the United Kingdom consisting of attorneys (solicitors) and counsellors (barristers). In deference to this practice, when an Attorney-at-Law is admitted t

Vermont Law School's 13 acre (53,000 m?) campus resides in South Royalton, central Vermont. The campus is set just above the broad banks of the White River (Vermont) .
The oldest and centermost classroom building on the campus is the town's original schoolhouse, built in 1892. #California Dog Bite Laws
Dog bite laws differ from state to state. California has enacted dog bite statutes under which a dog owner can be found strictly liable for injuries caused by his dog. California passed a statute that eliminated the “one-free bite” rule by holding a dog owner liable even if the dog has never bitten anyone or shown a tendency to bite. Under this statute, liability is based upon ownership and the dog’s past behavior is irrelevant. In California, a victim of a dog bite only needs to show that: the dog was owned by the defendant; the bite took place on public property or while the victim was lawfully on private property; the victim was actually bitten by the dog; and the victim was injured by the dog.
Defense under the California Statute
The dog bite statute is limited based on lack of ownership of the dog. If the defendant is not an owner California law states “A keeper, in contrast to an owner, is not an insurer of the good behavior of

#Cameron s immigration bill to include crackdown on illegal workers
David Cameron will try to brush off embarrassing net migration figures on Thursday by announcing details of a new immigration bill to be included in the Queen’s speech, which will propose a new criminal offence of illegal working that will allow police to seize the wages of anyone employed unlawfully.
If you have uncontrolled immigration, you have uncontrolled pressure on public services
David Cameron
It has been estimated that the backlog of people in Britain who have overstayed their visas and whose whereabouts are unknown is 300,000, but it is not known how many are working. Cameron managed to survive the general election, even though he once urged voters to kick him out if he failed to bring net migration down to the tens of thousands.
The last official quarterly net migration figures showed net migration was 298,000 last year, 54,000 higher than when he made the pledge in 2010.<
