#Distracted Driving
In Ontario, it is illegal for drivers to talk, text, type, dial or email using hand-held cell phones and other hand-held communications and entertainment devices. Find out the risks of distracted driving, which devices you can and can't use and the penalties you could incur.
Risks of distracted driving
Good drivers keep their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road. Research shows that drivers who use cell phones are four times more likely to be in a collision than drivers who focus on the road. And when drivers take their eyes off the road for more than two seconds, their crash risk doubles.

Libertarians, like other Americans, want to be able to walk city streets safely and be secure in their homes. We also want our Constitutional rights protected, to guard against the erosion of our civil liberties. In particular, Libertarians want to see all people treated equally under the law, as our Constitution requires. America's millions of gun owners are people too.
Law-abiding, responsible citizens do not and should not need to ask anyone's permission or approval to engage in a peaceful activity. Gun ownership, by itself, harms no other person and cannot morally justify criminal penalties.
America's founders fought the Revolutionary War to throw off British tyranny. Most of the revolutionaries owned and used their own guns in that war. After the war, in 1789, the 13 American States adopted the Constitution, creating the federal government. Before ratifying the Constitution, the people demanded a Bill of Rights to prevent our government

#Divorce Law.
Divorce Definition
Divorce is the termination of a marriage by court judgment. A judicial decree is awarded declaring the marriage to be dissolved. It leaves both spouses free to marry again. Many states refer to it as Dissolution of Marriage. It is also referred to as Absolute Divorce, Divorce from the Bond(s) of Matrimony, Total Divorce and a Matrimonial Action.
Most divorces are obtained by agreement between both parties to the marriage, allowing the couple to progress through the court system fairly quickly and easily, some with and some without legal representation. There is a small percentage, however, that cannot come to a satisfactory agreement regarding termination of their marriage, nor the related issues.
These couples utilize full legal representation and must avail themselves of their states legal system in obtaining a divorce and reaching decisions regarding the related issues.

Copyright is a form of intellectual property protection provided by the laws of the United States (Title 17 of the United States Code) to the authors of “original works of authorship ,” including literary. dramatic. musical. artistic, and certain other intellectual works. Copyright protection wholly statutory. [2] There is no copyright protection except as provided by the current Copyright Act .
Much of the structure and basis for American law is derived from its British legal antecedents. After the introduction of the printing press in England [3] in the late 1400s, the Crown's first response was to control what writings were printed or copied. [4] The earliest British copyright laws were enacted in the 1500s to promote censorship by the government in cooperation with a monopolistic group of printers known as the Stationers' Guild. [5]
This system collapsed when the company failed to exercise discretion as censor, but used its monopoly power to set high price

And with good reason. Where you went to school matters in this profession. In our series of open threads about the rankings, Elie commented in the posts on the third tier and fourth tier schools that only a lucky few of their graduates would be able to score jobs that pay the big bucks.
So how good exactly do you have to be to appeal to employers?
Shell Oil is currently advertising for an in-house position. Shell is willing to accept applications for graduates from all four tiers unlike U.S. News, Shell recognizes and defines the Tier II schools (#51-#100) but the lower down your school is on the U.S. News rankings, the closer to the top of your class you have to be.

#Dog Bite Laws and Statutes of Limitations in the United States
If you've been attacked and injured by a dangerous dog, it's in your best interest to contact a lawyer as soon as possible. When you get a lawyer quickly, more evidence may be gathered to prove your case and the dangerous dog can be stopped before it has the chance to hurt anyone else.
Preliminary Note:
Every state has different laws regarding a dog owner's liability for dog bites. Some states follow their common law. Other states have enacted statutory law in the form of Dog Bite Statutes. Most often, a Dog Bite Statute abolishes the common law, because, unlike the common law, these statutes don't require a dog bite victim to prove that a dog owner was at fault for an injury. In some states, however, people who have been injured by a dog are able to recover money damages under both the common law and their state's Dog Bite Statute. The following guide outlines state dog bite laws.

#Domestic Violence Law.
What is Domestic Violence Law?
Domestic violence law provides the criminal rules for punishing those who cause emotional or physical harm to others with whom they share a family or other close relationship. It also deals with the civil protections available to victims of this type of harm. Federal legislation has been enacted making domestic violence a crime, most notably the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). However, the vast majority of domestic violence offenses are prosecuted under state law.
Convictions for domestic violence in all states require that the defendants conduct and relationship to the victim meet certain standards. The statutory provisions describing these aspects of the crime differ from state to state, but generally, both the conduct and the relationship are defined broadly.
For example, a typical state statute will prohibit any conduct that causes harm to the victim, or poses a threat of harm that puts th

Few of my friends question me indirectly questions like:
- What are you trying to achieve by doing MBA ?
- Will you really make more money after MBA in USA ?
- What if you do not make more money after MBA ?
- Why dont you do it online. You get the MBA degree
If you think logically, what my friends are asking is correct. What if I really do not make more money, is my degree going to be waste? Let’s try to analyze the question and possibilities by using some math ! Imagine you are spending $60,000 towards your MBA in USA. What is the Return on your investment for $60,000. When will you be break-even? When will you make more money from the MBA degree?
If everything goes well and you get a job promotion and make $5,000 more every year then it takes 12 years for you to break-even. ( I am taking a very minimum hike scenario, in reality you may get more, but for discussion let’s look at worst case scenario as base case ) . Even

Due to the high cost of legal assistance, unless people are lucky enough to have insurance, there is a strong incentive to try to find cheap or free legal advice. Many people turn to online sources, such as legal websites, to try to obtain free legal counsel.
Some websites conflate legal advice and legal information , as if they are the same thing. They are not. There is a great deal of legal information available online, from a wide range of sources. Many of those sources are highly reliable, and offer analyses prepared by lawyers or government employees to assist people with a very broad range of legal problems.
But a document or FAQ on a legal subject, meant to provide a broad base of information to the public at large, is not legal advice . Legal advice is legal counsel tailored to an individual's specific situation and legal needs. For example, reading an informational document about your state's divorce procedure m

The Stark statute has generated confusion and anxiety among physicians. Such reactions are understandable given how easy it is to violate the law and how severe the penalties are. This article is the first in a two-part series intended to defuse the confusion. It explains what the Stark statute is, how it differs from the anti-kickback statute and how you can determine whether it applies to you. It also defines some of the key terms used in the statute, and describes the standards for meeting the group practice definition and how the definition applies to two of the most notabl

"Harassment" refers to a broad number of behaviors that are subject to both criminal punishment and civil liability. On the criminal side, states have a wide variety of criminal laws forbidding harassment in many forms, including general harassment crimes as well as specific forms of harassment, such as stalking and cyberstalking.
Criminal harassment should not be confused with how "harassment" is often used in contexts such as workplace discrimination lawsuits. Federal and state laws ban discrimination against certain types of people in certain situations, such as at work or in housing decisions. In these non-criminal contexts, the victim can sue the harasser in a private civil lawsuit, alleging that the harassment constitutes discrimination.
On the other hand, criminal harassment is usually confined to state law. States vary in how they define criminal harassment. Generally, criminal harassment entails intentionally targeting someone else with behavior tha

Yes, it s true and it s pretty fucking stupid.
Basically they re talking about banning all alcohol advertising to protect the impressionable children which means that all alcohol related advertising in public areas would be illegal. Because apparently adverts encourage people to start drinking younger to which I ll point out that if stuff s illegal just because then someone will sure as hell rebel. And this includes underage drinking so I doubt the advertising blackout will do shit.
The new laws also mean that a restaurant can t for example use a following kind of positive Facebook review in their advertising, social media or otherwise: Great restaurant, absolutely mouthwatering food, make sure to check out their shrimps, nice atmosphere, a large selection of beers for all tastes. They re also forbidden from creating content that can be shared, which has also apparently lead to Finnish government to asking Facebook to ban the Share button in Finland.

#Draft Substantive Patent Law Treaty
In November 2000, the need for patent law harmonization going beyond formalities led WIPO's Standing Committee on the Law of Patents (SCP). at its fourth session. to decide to initiate work on harmonization of substantive patent law with a view to concluding a Substantive Patent Law Treaty (SPLT). The SCP agreed to focus initially on a number of issues of direct relevance to the grant of patents, in particular, the definition of prior art, novelty, inventive step/non-obviousness, industrial applicability/utility, the drafting and interpretation of claims and the requirement of sufficient disclosure of the invention.
In May 2001 at its fifth session. the SCP considered a first draft of the SPLT. including draft Regulations and Practice Guidelines. At its sixth session in November 2001, the SCP revised the draft provisions, and agreed on an approach to establishing a seamless interface between the SPLT, the PLT and the Patent Cooperation T

Lemon laws are American state law s that provide a remedy for purchasers of cars and other consumer goods in order to compensate for products that repeatedly fail to meet standards of quality and performance. Although there may be defective products of all sorts ranging from small electrical appliance s to huge pieces of machinery, and there is even a "puppy lemon law", the term "lemon" is generally thought of as applying to defective vehicles such as automobiles, trucks. SUV s, and motorcycles .
These vehicles and other goods are called "lemons ". The federal lemon law (the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act ) was enacted in 1975 and protects citizens of all states. State lemon laws vary by state and may not necessarily cover used or leased cars, and other goods. The rights afforded to consumers by lemon laws may exceed the warranties expressed in purchase contracts. Lemon law is the common nickname for these laws, but each state has different names for the laws and a

The Amos Tuck School of Business Administration is the graduate business school of Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, United States of America. Founded in 1900, Tuck is the oldest graduate school of business in the US, and was the first institution to offer master's degrees in the field of business administration. It is one of six Ivy League business schools, and it consistently ranks in the top ten of national business school rankings.
The program allows students to largely structure their own course of study subject to the constraint of a broad set of requirements. This is in contrast to other top-tier business schools, which impose a cohort or learning team system that includes coursework to be completed in a pre-determined order. The program differentiates itself by allowing students the flexibility to construct a program of study that is tailored to their needs, and can be as broad or deep as they choose. There is only one required course for full-time program

Attorneys looking to start up a firm often look for the best furniture, equipment, and supplies available so as to impress their prospective clients once the office is open. However, lawyers just starting out their careers or making a clean, fresh transition from another practice may have to be more practical in their considerations. Whether furniture and other equipment is necessary, or more of a luxury, is a determination each lawyer will have to make in the context of their budget and past experience. In essence, this is one of the first of many business decisions that a lawyer must make. Rankings are a comparison of business schools that is organized by journalists. Accreditation is a process of quality assessment that is conducted by peers under the supervision of professional associations. Rankings will only tell you which business schools a magazine or newspaper thinks is number 1, number 2, number 3, etc. but accreditation will tell you that a business school meets specific international standards. In terms of measures of quality, accreditation is much more important than rankings.
The MBA Tour encourages you to look at BOTH rankings and accreditation when you choose an MBA program. We have asked our colleagues to provide information to help you better understand both processes.
Accreditation

#Eight Hallmarks of a TTT Law School
Urban Dictionary defines a third-tier toilet (TTT) as a “pejorative term for law schools that are not prestigious.” The definition goes on to explain that any school that fails to rank in the Top 14 is not prestigious. Which, by that definition, means that Harvard is not a TTT, but Vanderbilt is. As a result, the TTT label is applied liberally to a range of law programs. (UD)
Since we’re not sure who makes this shit up—and since the label seems rather arbitrary—we made our own list of factors that indicate an institution is a TTT.
1 TTTroll Factory. Is your law school a thread on a law-oriented bulletin board? If your law school produces so many comment trolls that your dean needs an RSS feed for sites like JDUnderground.com and AutoAdmit.com just to keep up with what dissatisfied alums are saying, it’s a safe bet that the school in question is a TTT.
2 BidirecTTTional. If your
