Known as “the Friendly Law School” of New York City, Fordham University is an amiable oasis within the hustle and bustle of its hometown. While the curriculum is indisputably difficult, Fordham students are guided through the myriad challenges they face with the encouragement and support of the school’s accomplished faculty, who “are available, encouraging, incredibly knowledgeable of their subject matter, interesting, and personable. somehow “less mind-boggling” than its reputable name might suggest.

Resources at Fordham University include two scenic campuses in New York City and two in Westchester county. The resources contained vary with location, with facilities which go beyond the obvious instructional and research needs. In addition to labs for science and technology, forests and lakes for Biological research, fields and gymnasia for athletics, a major radio station and University press, there are facilities for conferences and other special events. Besides bookstores at each of the three main New York campuses, there is also cable TV and Internet connectivity, both wired and wireless. The state-of-the-art resources, our residence halls and food service make our campuses feel like home. We provide Ram Van service, to get you from here to there. And each year, thousands of visitors to conferences utilize our facilities to further their own living and learning experiences.

The Department of Student Services (RH, LC, and MMC) offers a variety of resources and programs to support students in their academic achievement, educational goals, personal growth, and professional development. These services advance overall student development and become an integral component of the educational process, with the ultimate goal of strenghthening learning outcomes. Consistent with our Jesuit tradition and overall Student Affairs divisional mission, staff offering these services are committed to responding to the full spectrum of diverse student needs and abilities. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these services and are actively engaged with administrators in the planning process, from the development of new programs discussed in small and informal focus groups, to formally administered assessment instruments.
