#Choosing a Law School - Law School Forums Workshops Law School Forums WorkshopsForum 101Begin the forum experience with this workshop on how to get the most from this chance to talk with law school representatives. Receive insider tips on which questions are the most productive; hear ideas on mapping the day to take advantage of workshops on admission, financial aid, and the LSAT; and learn about lesser-known forum resources such as free counseling with prelaw advisors and a panel discussion with local attorneys. About the LSATA member of the Law School Admission Council's test development staff will provide a brief overview of the test. Included will be insight into the different question types and how to approach them, as well as basic suggestions on how to best prepare for the LSAT. In addition to the session, the LSAC test developer will be available to answer individual questions about the test. Times for individual questions will be announced at the forum. The Application ProcessThe application process workshop will be featured at this year's forums. The application process workshop will cover the elements basic to applying to law school such as self-assessment, scheduling and timing, the LSAT, the LSAC Credential Assembly Service (CAS), personal statements, letters of recommendation, school visits, and the decision-making process. LSAC's new, workshop-exclusive video, Applying to Law School, will be shown, followed by a question-and-answer period. Law school admission professionals will serve on the panels to answer questions from participants. Financing a Legal EducationThe financial aid workshop will cover what aid is available, the loan application process, qualifying for federal and private loan programs, credit worthiness, and future indebtedness. Diversity Information PanelWhat Do Lawyers Do?A panel of attorneys representing a diverse cross-section of practice areas will inform participants about the profession. Panelists will describe their career paths and offer details on the skills needed to represent clients effectively.
