Timothy D. Martin

Mr. Martin began practicing law over 30 years ago, focusing from the start on family law cases. Initially a litigator, he has moved away from litigated cases and has increasingly moved to serving as a mediator and collaborative counsel. As a result of his longstanding focus on ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution), he was instrumental in 1996 in developing the ADR program for family law cases that was initially run by the San Mateo County Bar Association. That program has evolved into the MAP program at the courthouse. He is also a co-founder of the local (San Mateo County) Collaborative Law practice group known as Collaborative Practice San Mateo County (CPSMC).

Margaret Laughlin Martin

Mrs. Martin specializes in Protected Persons Law, the field of law that deals with people who are unable to manage their own financial or personal lives. The people who most commonly need assistance in these matters are elderly, minors (children), or mentally challenged individuals.

Mrs. Martin is an expert in Probate, Power of Attorney, Conservatorships, Guardianships, and other forms of legal protections. She can also utilize her experience to help you decide the best possible course of action if you are not sure which direction to take.
