? A curfew is a rule that says people under a certain age should be off the streets and in their homes by a specific time of night. Curfews were first introduced in 1998 in a policy called Crime and Disorder Act (BBC.News.org). Curfew laws are intended to protect young people and keep them from getting into trouble. Even though intended to curfew laws do not keep teens out of trouble. It is said by Traci Truly that “the teen curfew laws have helped to lower the crime rate particularly the crimes committed by teens” (138), but the crimes committed by teens can occur at any time. Even though there is a curfew, teens will then only try to find trouble in the daytime. Having curfew will just increase the number of troubles or wrong doings. Teens can get into to as much trouble in the middle of the day as they can at night. The time of day has nothing to do with the decision a teen will make. Teens seem to think they can do what they want whenever. They seem to do crazy things whether someone is watching them or not. Just because they have a curfew it doesn’t mean that they aren’t going to get in trouble. It may limit the things they do. Which in turn limits the trouble they get in, but it doesn’t stop them from doing things to get them in trouble. Teens love being rebels, so they will try to do the opposite of what they are told anyways. Putting a curfew on teens only makes them want to find more trouble whenever their curfew isn’t in effect. Curfews don’t keep teenagers from out of trouble when said teenagers are looking for trouble according to an magazine article written by Jessical Mayer (AzTeen Magazine). Jessical Mayer also observed that curfew only promotes teens to sneak around (AzTeen Magazine). Teens are very sneaky and carless. A little curfew won't stop them from doing what they want. In fact teens actually challenge any limits set to them. Curfews are just like fence that can be jumped over. Teens deserve to have. Please sign up to read full document.
