Although no online law school is accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA), students can still earn law degrees online. However, those choosing this route may not be eligible for state bar exams. Here are some of the well-known online law schools. Online Law Schools Overview

According to the ABA's ABA Standards for Approval of Law Schools 2013-2014. ABA-accredited law schools are limited in the number of credits they can offer to students via online study. These policies also limit the number of online credits that can be counted toward earning the Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Therefore, the ABA does not currently accredit any online law schools.

In addition, the ABA website notes that each state sets its own criteria regarding what preparation is needed to sit for its bar exam. Therefore, aspiring lawyers are encouraged to check with the state board of bar examiner or the state bar association in the state or states where she or he plans to practice to verify that an online law degree meets those standards.

Taft Law School

As a private postsecondary educational institution, Taft Law School provides online courses for students interested in pursuing law degrees. California School of Law

The California School of Law provides students with online courses and live interactive classrooms where they can talk to the professor and other classmates.
