Jasmine Abdel-khalik

Biography

Jasmine Abdel-khalik joined UMKC after practicing in Chicago, Ill. initially at Baker McKenzie LLP and subsequently at Freeborn Peters, LLP. Her practice encompassed general commercial and intellectual property litigation, including litigation before the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology from Cornell University, Professor Abdel-khalik received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where she served as a Notes Editor on the Michigan Journal of International Law .

Professor Abdel-khalik teaches, researches and writes in the areas of intellectual property law, specifically trademark, unfair competition and business tort claims, and intellectual property litigation. She is a co-adviser of the Appellate Advocacy Program, the National Moot Court Competition team and the ABA National Appellate Advocacy team.
