Dean s Law Dictionary is a complete legal dictionary aimed at professionals, students, and everyone interested in learning and broadening their knowledge on legal terms. It has a database of more than 170000 entries, among words and phrases, including definitions of terms used in American and English Jurisprudence, which also encompasses Latin expressions, terms of constitutional and commercial law, abbreviations, synonyms, quotations, and idiomatic expressions.

The dictionary is divided in 7 sections which are in turn organized into tabs that make it very easy to navigate and explore all its contents. There is a reference section which includes a number of important study material and documents, like the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, the American Constitution, and also a number of statutory codes.

To look up for a term, we only need to type in a word or even a phrase, and the dictionary will quickly display the results. The program uses plain text in the definitions and documents, which allows us to highlight passages we consider of relevance, and copy these passages in the clipboard. We can zoom in/out this text, change the font and its color, or print a selected portion of it.

It has a very interesting function through which we can select any word of a passage and clicking on a button the dictionary will show its definition, without needing to type the word in the search box.

The dictionary includes other sections, such as Exams, Outlines, or Flash Cards, but they are not enabled in the demo version. Still, you can try it for 3 days and see how convenient it is to have a dictionary of this importance in digital form.
