NLRB Consolidation

The NLRB is considering a merger of Region 3 and Region 6. Region 3 covers most of Upstate New York. Region 6 covers Western Pennsylvania and most of West Virginia. At the same time, the NLRB is considering where to locate the Regional Office of the merged regions. Currently the choice is Buffalo or Pittsburgh.

As a section we are strongly in favor of keeping the Regional Office in Buffalo. 

What we need you to do is to contact the NLRB and your elected federal and state representatives and weigh in on this. We also need our clients to weigh in. Comments to the NLRB should be sent to feedback@NLRB.gov with a reference to proposed consolidation of Region 3 and 6.

Please take a moment and send a letter or email to the NLRB and your elected representatives. While you are at it, alert your clients and ask them to draft a letter.

Nothing replaces personal contact. If the Regional Office is moved from Buffalo, our personal contacts will be severely diminished to the ultimate detriment of our clients.

The Labor Employment N.Y. (“LENY”) blog is a law blog sponsored by the New York State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section.  Among other primary objectives, the Section’s mission statement requires the Section “to disseminate information and exchange ideas relating to the development and practice of labor and employment law, both substantive and procedural,” as well as “to further the education of the Bar and the public in labor and employment law.”
