#Internet Law - Guide to Cyberspace Law.
Internet Law, or Cyberlaw as it is sometimes called, refers to the legal issues related to the use of the Internet. It is less a distinct field of law than a conglomeration of intellectual property law, contract law, privacy laws, and many other fields, and how they pertain to the use of the Internet.
Unique Nature of Cyberlaw
If there can be laws that could govern the Internet, then such laws will require a unique structure to grapple with the international and ethereal nature of the web. Many argue the Internet is not actually regulable at all, while others argue that not only can it be regulated but substantial bodies of law already exist. Since the Internet is not geographically bound, national laws can not apply globally. A few international agreements exist, but some have argued that the Internet should be allowed to self-regulate as its own "nation."

#Internet law
The Internet has led to the development of a burgeoning field of legislation wherein amateur lawmakers seek, in the manner of Murphy's Law, to glibly describe certain aspects or observations regarding internet behaviour in general and, more specifically, debates and discussions on Usenet groups and internet forums.
Warning. Internet law tends neither to be logically rigorous nor evenly applied. It often commits fallacies. Invocation of individual laws is usually a time-saving device used to prevent one from being dragged into an argument with someone who will under no circumstance alter one's own opinion.

#International Trade Law - Research Guides
International Trade Law Guide
Written by Karin Johnsrud, edited by Silke Sahl
Last Updated July 28, 2011
International trade is a complicated area of law to research because there are numerous levels of trade organizations and interactions. There are bilateral trade agreements, regional trade agreements and multinational trade agreements. Each of these agreements has its own history, policies and dispute settlement procedures. Trade organizations established under the agreements have separate resources that can be searched. Furthermore, individual countries have their own policies and laws relating to international trade. As an example, the United States Congress must pass legislation enacting international trade agreements before the United States can officially become a party. The national policies have to be researched individually and frequently separately from the resources relating to the international organiz

#James Sokolove Doesn - t Fix Problems, But He Knows People Who Can
There is a great profile in the Boston Magazine about attorney James Sokolove, a guy that advertises his legal services on T.V. so often I just assumed he didn t actually exist.
Apparently, he does exist, but his legal services don t, at least not in the traditional sense:
Despite his prodigious success and his omnipresent image as a bulldog attorney, Sokolove hasn t seen the inside of a courtroom in nearly three decades. Truth be told, he s argued only one case before a jury; it was back in the early 1970s, and he lost. It wasn t tenacious lawyering that allowed Sokolove to build a legal empire, but rather his prowess as a businessman and an innovator. He and his staff of 80 don t try cases; instead they connect prospective clients to other lawyers, who pay Sokolove a cut of their fees for ginning up business.
Sweet. The only thing better then an unabashed ambulance chaser is an unabashed

#Is It Time to Start Shutting Down Law Schools? Bloomberg Business
This month, the American Bar Association provisionally accredited a new law school at Concordia University. More than 200 law schools are accredited in the U.S. An analysis of data from the ABA itself raises the question whether that list should be getting any longer.
Law schools exist for a lot of reasons, but a pretty important one is to prepare people to be lawyers. By that standard, a large handful of institutions seem to be failing. Last year, 10 law schools were unable to place more than 30 percent of their graduating class in permanent jobs that required passing the bar, according to ABA data. Those job numbers don't include positions that schools fund for their graduates or people who say they are starting their own practice.
At the University of Massachusetts School of Law, the American school with the worst job outcomes by this measure, just 22 percent of people who graduated in 2014 got th

Dear Students,
Welcome to the Transactional Law Program's Web pages.
I became the director of the Transactional Law Program in July 2012 after retiring as a partner in the Boston office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher Flom LLP, where I practiced in the firm s mergers acquisitions department for almost 30 years. The principal goal of the Transactional Law Program is to provide a solid foundation of essential practice skills to students seeking a career in transactional practice and to those who will need these skills at some point in their careers, regardless of the specific area of legal practice they pursue. We seek to bridge the gap between what students learn in traditional law school classes and the skills they need when they enter the legal practice arena.

#Is studying an MBA a good investment?
It's hard work, expensive and it can deal a hammer blow to the toughest of management egos, but the master of business administration (MBA) continues to be one of the UK's most popular postgraduate programmes.
More than 8,000 new students enrolled at business schools in 2011 for courses accredited by the Association of MBAs. But if you are thinking of joining them in 2013, where should you start? Over the next few days, this series will guide you through the basics of MBAs. looking at the different courses on offer, how to apply, the cost and job prospects once you have graduated.
Fees at the top end are 57,500 for a two-year full-time MBA at the London Business School, or 33,000 for a two-year part-time executive MBA at the Cranfield School of Management in Bedford.
So the question has to be asked: is there a return on investment? Quantifying an MBA's value is an inexact science but the Alumni Perspectives Survey of 4,

#Is Louisiana under Napoleonic law?
The French influence on Pelican state jurisprudence.
Louisiana attorneys who've been displaced by Hurricane Katrina are worrying about whether they'll know enough to pass the bar exam in another state. Meanwhile, law students from New Orleans who transfer out of state won't be able to take the courses they need to practice in Louisiana. What makes Louisiana law unique?
Napoleon. The legal system in Louisiana—unlike that of any other state—derives from the Civil Code established by the French emperor in 1804. Four years before Louisiana became a state in 1812, the former French and Spanish colony adopted a version of the Napoleonic Code. (Some people say it's wrong to call Louisiana's legal system "Napoleonic," since the state Civil Code was also influenced by Spanish law. Historians still argue over the extent of this Spanish influence.) The resulting system of "civil law" in the state differs from the other 49 states' "common-l

#Issues and Laws Surrounding Child Custody
Talk to a Local Child Custody and Visitation Attorney
Most people probably associate child custody with divorce actions. but child custody issues are also common in actions involving paternity, guardianship, termination of parental rights and juvenile delinquency. Child custody not only involves the physical custody and control of your child, but the parental rights, privileges, duties and powers connected to child rearing.
The best interests of the child is the universal standard used in determining child custody issues. How child custody issues are treated by the courts today reflects changes in the decisions issued by the courts, states statutes, society and psychological research findings.

Those lawyers have beaten him to the punch.

States the lawsuit:
Immediately following the filing of what the Defendant, DERSHOWITZ, knew to be an entirely proper and well-founded pleading, DERSHOWITZ initiated a massive public media assault on the reputation and character of BRADLEY J. #JD is the degree - A 2 Z
One of life’s great indulgences is the cognoscente’s feeling of smug superiority when others get some inside-baseball bit of information wrong. It’s a heady amalgam of emotions—lamenting how the world is going to hell while simultaneously assuring yourself that it is, at any rate, not YOUR fault. And I have noted in my own case that the impulse is exacerbated when I learned the key bit of information relatively late in life. I suppose the increased degree of smugness is borne of overcompensation. There are things that I can actually remember learning as an adult, and yet they still elicit a quick, happy disdain in my heart when someone else gets them wrong.
I’m not alone in this, I’m sure. Once, while out of town for a law school conference, I had dinner with a faculty member—let’s call him Professor Black—who might reasonably be described as combative; he also invited someone from another law school. At dinner, Professor Black told a little story

#VegFamily Sold: How I used the Law of Attraction to sell a business
I recently sold my online vegan magazine, VegFamily.com , to a new owner. I used the Law of Attraction to manifest this result, and I want to share how that all happened.
When I started ErinPavlina.com last year, I spent the first few months just blogging and discovering I had psychic abilities that I could actually apply to others. By June of 2006 I had opened myself up to give intuitive readings to people. At this time, I was still running my web development company, selling my books, and running VegFamily. After several months of juggling all these businesses, it became clear to me that I didn t have time to run all of these businesses effectively. #Juris Doctor legal definition of Juris Doctor
Juris Doctor
The degree awarded to an individual upon the successful completion of law school.
Juris doctor, or doctor of Jurisprudence. commonly abbreviated J.D. is the degree commonly conferred by law schools. It is required in all states except California (which includes an option called law office study) to gain Admission to the Bar. Gaining admission to the bar means obtaining a license to practice law in a particular state or in federal court.
Until the 1930s and 1940s, many states did not require a person to have a law school degree in order to obtain a license to practice law. Most lawyers qualified for a license by working as an apprentice for an established attorney for a specified period. By the 1950s most states required a law school degree. State legislatures established this requirement to raise the standards of practicing attorneys and to restrict the number of attorneys. The degree offer

#Vehicle Repossession
Related Items
Chances are you rely on your vehicle to get you where you need to go — and when you need to go — whether it’s to work, school, the grocery store, or the soccer field. But if you’re late with your car payments, or in some states, if you don’t have adequate auto insurance, your vehicle could be taken away from you.
When you finance or lease a vehicle, your creditor or lessor has important rights that end once you’ve paid off your loan or lease obligation. These rights are established by the contract you signed and the law of your state. For example, if you don’t make timely payments on the vehicle, your creditor may have the right to “repossess” — or take back your car without going to court or warning you in advance. Your creditor also may be able to sell your contract to a third party, called an assignee, who may have the same right to seize the car as the original creditor.

#Was it worth it?
Was it worth it?
Daianna Karaian, an alumna of the Kellogg School of Management, reveals how much of her MBA she still finds useful a year after graduation
THESE days, questioning the value of a business degree is one of the few growth industries. The Economist itself indulges in the practice from time to time. Is two years out of the job market and tens of thousands of dollars in tuition a wise investment? A year ago, as a newly-minted—and unemployed—MBA, I was sceptical.
With a background in sustainability and marketing gained from non-profits, government and small business, I went to business school to discover unexplored territory: the MBA would be my bridge into big business. I regularly pulled all-nighters poring over finance and accounting textbooks, poking into the darkest corners of Excel, and solemnly applying Little s Law to eliminate hypothetical bottlenecks in imaginary factories. Within six months I felt I
