Academic opportunities and extracurricular activities, including clinics and journals, are never in short supply, and the school's location near the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Capitol is something else students can take advantage of. GULC offers both a full- and a part-time J.D. program, the highest-ranked program to do so.
As of the class of 2012, Georgetown had a Law School Transparency employment score of 73.2% (essentially the percentage of graduates employed as entry-level lawyers) and a total debt-financed price tag of $263,473. In this age of rapidly increasing cost of law school and rapidly decreasing job prospects, 0Ls must do their due diligence when investigating law schools and do everything possible to maximize chances of employment and minimize debt.

#Georgia - State Laws - Breast Feeding Laws
Georgia enacted a law that begins by clarifying the importance of breastfeeding, and states that a mother has a right to breastfeed in public where she is allowed to be with her baby. Previously, the law required that breastfeeding be conducted in a modest manner which was stricken. Georgia allows, but does not require, employers to accommodate breastfeeding mothers when they return to work.
The breast-feeding of a baby is an important and basic act of nurture which should be encouraged in the interests of maternal and child health. A mother may breast-feed her baby in any location where the mother and baby are otherwise authorized to be.
(a) As used in this Code section, the term employer means any person or entity that employs one or more employees and shall include the state and its political subdivisions.

#Gifts (Property Law Chart)
A gift is a gratuitous or voluntary transfer in which something is given in exchange for nothing.
Courts are therefore suspicious of gifts:
** Contracts and bargains are seen as a more valid form of economic exchange
** Gifts are perceived as less worthy of judicial intervention
** Therefore, must stricter requirements have been imposed in order to avoid the court process; this leads to: (1) More predictability in terms of success of action; (2) Easier application of the test for gifts
Worth noting:
** Generally, only bargains are perceived as reciprocal
A gift between two living people mean to take effect during the life of the people who are party to the transaction.
Conditions necessary to make a gift originated in the importance of transfer of ownership. Delivery was a important as a ceremonial indicator.

#Getting Along With Your In-Laws
In-law relationships need a touch of civility. Consider the story of Stephanie, who complained, "My mother-in-law never approves of the way I do anything. The last time Joe and I visited her it happened again. Just trying to be nice and helpful, I washed all the pots and pans after dinner. No sooner had I finished than she washed them all over again!"
Stephanie is not a newlywed. She has been married to Joe for 15 years. That whole time, she and Joe's mom have silently struggled with being civil to each other. When Joe's mom comes to visit, Stephanie really tries to get the house clean and comfortable for her. But after arriving, her mother-in-law pulls out the cleaning supplies and spit shines the bathrooms and kitchen. Stephanie assumes she's doing this because she thinks Stephanie is a slob and lives in filth.
After the last pots-and-pans fiasco, Stephanie spilled her frustrations to Joe's older sister, Connie. "I know your mother

#Personal injury law: area of practice
Sometimes cases move quite slowly and this can be frustrating, but it s satisfying to help someone who has had their life turned upside down.
Personal injury (PI) solicitors working for claimants attempt to obtain compensation for clients after they sustain an injury; solicitors working for defendants either attempt to refute the claim or to negotiate the amount of compensation required. Solicitors working for a claimant may also ensure that in cases where a client lacks capacity – some brain-damaged patients, for example – that the money is protected for his or her use.
This area of practice requires good mathematical skills, as not only do solicitors on both sides need to calculate appropriate level of compensations but also to forecast future needs. For example, if the injured party needs adapted accommodation, rehabilitation or is unlikely to work for a period of time, the costs/losses will need to be considered.

#Guernsey s current Mental Health Law
This order can only be brought about once a patient is an in-patient of the mental health services. It is usually the Consultant Psychiatrist who recommends the order, although the Consultant is not actively involved in implementing the order. Two GPs, one of whom should be the person's own GP (the other from another practice) each interview the person, and then sign a form giving their recommendations. A responsible relative, or a Constable of the Parish, must then also see the person and sign 2 forms. Those 4 forms are then sent to HM Procurer who will ratify the order.
Certification is effective for up to one year. At any time during that year, the Consultant may discharge the person from hospital. The order can therefore be rescinded. Sometimes however, the order is left in place following discharge from hospital. If the person then later becomes unwell again, then they can be brought back into hospital under the order.

#Personal Injury Law: The Basics
The fact that mishaps are fairly commonplace does not detract from the pain and confusion that can result when an accident or injury happens to you or a loved one. If you decide to take steps toward protecting your legal rights after an accident or injury, you may have a number of general questions about personal injury cases.
What is a Personal Injury Case?
Personal injury cases are legal disputes that arise when one person suffers harm from an accident or injury, and someone else might be legally responsible for that harm. A personal injury case can become formalized through civil court proceedings that seek to find others legally at fault through a court judgment or, as is much more common, such disputes may be resolved through informal settlement before any lawsuit is filed:
- Formal Lawsuit Unlike criminal cases, which are initiated by the government, a formal personal injury case typically starts wh

Other chapters engage more specific topics including the role of vindication in tort law, the relationship between criminal law and tort law, the use of epidemiological evidence in analysing causation, accessory liability in tort law, the role of malice in intentional torts and the role of statutes in tort law. They propose new approaches to contributory negligence, emotional distress, loss of a chance, damages for nuisance, the tort of conspiracy and vicarious liability.
