The expression Gay-Lussac's law is used for each of the two relationships named after the French chemist Joseph Louis Gay-Lussac and which concern the properties of gases. though it is more usually applied to his law of combining volumes, the first listed here. The first law relates to volumes before and after a chemical reaction while the second concerns the pressure and temperature relationship for a sample of gas often known as Amontons' Law .
Under STP. a reaction between three cubic meters of hydrogen gas and one cubic meter of nitrogen gas will produce circa two cubic meters of ammonia
The law of combining volumes states that, when gases react together to form other gases, all volumes are measured at the same temperature and pressure:
The ratio between the volumes of the reactant gases and the products can be expressed in simple whole numbers.
For example, Gay-Lussac found that 2 volumes of Hydrogen and 1 volume of Oxygen wo

As a preliminary matter, insurance companies are generally required to follow all of the same laws and regulations as any other type of business. This would include zoning and land use, wage and hour laws, tax laws, and securities regulations. There are also other regulations that insurers must also follow.
Regulation of the business of insurance
Insurance regulation that governs the business of insurance is typically aimed at assuring the solvency of insurance companies. Thus, this type of regulation governs capitalization, reserve policies, rates and various other "back office" processes.
In the United States each state typically has a statute creating an administrative agency. These state agencies are typically called the Department of Insurance, or some similar name, and the head official is the Insurance Commissioner, or a similar titled officer. The agency then creates a group of administrative regulations to govern insurance companies which are domic

As of today, nearly every state has an Internet privacy law in effect. Minnesota and Nevada led the way with their prototype Privacy Acts which are heavily based on the various federal Internet privacy acts that already existed, such as the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, the Consumer Internet Privacy Protection Act, and Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
State internet privacy acts generally are interested in maintaining the confidentiality of Internet service provider subscriber information. These acts apply to physical hosts of a site, but also apply to companies providing third party services to web users.

Schools, colleges, universities and tutoring centers often fill online teaching positions from current or local faculty. Others will post job descriptions specifically seeking a specialized instructor in a dedicated subject or education line. The best places to look for an online teaching position are online. When visiting job search sites, use the search terms: online instructor, online teacher and online adjunct or distance learning instructor. You may replace instructor with tutor if you are seeking a tutoring position to supplement your income.
Teaching online at the university or college level requires applicants to be at least one full degree higher than the level of student they will be teaching. For example, at local community colleges that offer a distance learning option, applicants must have a bachelor's degree or higher as well as teaching credentials in the state they are applying to teach in. For four year universities or colleges, applicants must have a master

Since the Great Recession millions of Americans have found themselves in dire financial straits. While filing bankruptcy is often the last resort, many have been left with no other choice.
Bankruptcy can be a devastating move, both financially and psychologically. You are unable to borrow money or use a credit card. Your credit score may be lower than your age. But there is life after bankruptcy.
When the University of Arkansas School of Law set up a program for law students to work with consumers who have filed for bankruptcy protection, one fact quickly became clear. These consumers waited too long to act.
It s very sad, said Tim Tarvin, associate professor and supervising attorney in the student-staffed Federal Practice Clinic. It's not unusual for people to break down in the interview setting with the student attorneys who are representing them. These families have been working so hard trying to figure out how to pay off their debt, and it s just not wor

#Fake service dogs: Pet owners exploit ADA loophole - Federal Way Mirror
In this file photo from a 2008 report, a pitbull is seen working as a service dog for a local woman who says she suffers from recurrent seizures. Shown wearing a pink service dog coat, the pitbull is a constant companion who alerts the woman if she shows signs of a seizure, she said.

When is a service dog not a service dog?
By definition, service dogs are trained to perform specific tasks for people with disabilities. Service dogs assist people with physical and mental impairments, whether by guiding the blind, pulling a wheelchair or alerting an owner to an impending seizure.
However, some pet owners bring their non-service dogs into public establishments like restaurants and grocery stores — and easily get away with it.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 grants specific rights and prohibits discriminatio

#Paying a Private Criminal Defense Attorney - Cost of Defense
How much will a lawyer cost? Here are the various ways that private criminal lawyers charge for their work.
One of the first questions you're likely to ask an attorney whom you're considering hiring is, "What will this cost?" Here's the low-down on how criminal defense attorneys charge for their services, which vary according to such factors as:
The probable complexity of the case. Most attorneys charge more for felonies than for misdemeanors, because felonies carry greater penalties, often require more court appearances, demand more preparation, and so on.
The attorney’s experience. Generally, less experienced attorneys set lower fees than their more experienced colleagues. But beware when you encounter an extremely low hourly rate (see below), which can be misleading. An experienced attorney with a high hourly rate may be able to resolve a case more quickly an

#Federal Labor Laws For Salaried Employees

Hourly workers are protected by federal minimum hourly wage standards with overtime pay equal to "time and a half." The laws around salary workers are similar but take on their own unique flavor.
Categories of Federal Labor Laws
There are four basic protections involved in salaried employee labor laws. These are:

These make up the backbone of the American system of worker protection
Federal Laws about Hours Worked

#Federal Laws
Although no federal law directly addresses bullying, in some cases, bullying overlaps with discriminatory harassment when it is based on race, national origin, color, sex, age, disability, or religion. When bullying and harassment overlap, federally-funded schools (including colleges and universities) have an obligation to resolve the harassment. When the situation is not adequately resolved, the U.S. Department of Education s Office for Civil Rights and the U.S. Department of Justice s Civil Rights Division may be able to help.
Are there federal laws that apply to bullying?
At present, no federal law directly addresses bullying. In some cases, bullying overlaps with discriminatory harassment which is covered under federal civil rights laws enforced by the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). Yup your big girl still needs a boost, and will til she s 4 9 tall, according to booster car seat laws. The booster seat s job is to ensure that your car s safety belts fit your child correctly. The lap belt needs to fit snugly across her upper thighs, and the shoulder belt should go across the middle of her chest (without cutting into her neck, slipping over her shoulder, or being slipped under her arm). This won t happen without a booster until she reaches that magic 4 9 height. For most kids, that s somewhere around age eight but sometimes it s even later than that. Keep in mind that a lap/shoulder belt alone won t keep her safe in a crash and could put her at risk for serious injuries.
First off, every child should say snug in a car seat and facing the rear as long as possible, until she's at least two years old. When she reaches the upper weight limit (30 to 35 pounds) or her head hits less than an inch from the top of the seat, it's okay to face the car seat f
