#Copyright and Public Domain
Authors own the exclusive rights to their compositions. This is called a copyright and the composition is protected for many years--even if the copyright is never registered with the copyright office. A composition is considered to be intellectual property The copyright may be sold, transferred, or inherited--but the copyright still endures.
If music or lyrics are under copyright protection:

- you CANNOT play a recording of the music or lyrics in public--even if you own the CD
- you CANNOT make a derivative work or arrangement for public use in any form

There's a lot of misinformation out there about legal rights and responsibilities in the digital era.
This is especially disconcerting when it comes to information being shared with youth. Kids and teens are bombarded with messages from a myriad of sources that using new technology is high-risk behavior. Downloading music is compared to stealing a bicycle even though many downloads are lawful. Making videos using short clips from other sources is treated as probably illegal even though many such videos are also lawful.
This misinformation is harmful, because it discourages kids and teens from following their natural inclination to be innovative and inquisitive. The innovators, artists and voters of tomorrow need to know that copyright law restricts many activities but also permits many others. And they need to know the positive steps they can take to protect themselves in the digital sphere. In short, youth don't need more intimidation wha

I'm going to tell you a little story, but before I do, a warning: It ain't pretty.
It's a perfectly fine Thursday afternoon. I'm going about my business, happily editing a blog post, when I get an email from the head of HubSpot's legal department. Oh boy.
Apparently, he'd received a letter from a popular stock photography website claiming we had wrongfully used two of their images on our blog.
My first thought was, "What? This must be a mistake." We're very good about only using photos and images we have permission to use on the blog. As a result, we usually either purchase stock photos or use images sourced from sites like Flickr licensed under Creative Commons, which is a nonprofit offering easy-to-use copyright licenses that make it easy for people t

The Laws (in Greek. ?????) is Plato 's last and longest dialogue. The conversation depicted in the work's twelve books begins with the question of who is given the credit for establishing a civilization's laws. Its musings on the ethics of government and law have established it as a classic of political philosophy alongside Plato's more widely read Republic .
Unlike most of Plato's dialogues, Socrates does not appear in the Laws. the dialogue takes place on the island of Crete. and Socrates appears outside of Athens in Plato's writings only twice, in the Phaedrus. where he is just outside the city's walls, and in the Republic. where he goes down to the seaport Piraeus five miles outside of Athens. The conversation is instead lead by an Athenian Stranger (in Greek, xenos ) and two other old men, the ordinary Spartan citizen Megillos and the Cretan politician and lawgiver Clinias from Knossos .

If you’re intent on picking up your MBA in a single year, your options of attending one of the very best schools in the world narrow considerably. In the U.S. for example, only nine of the top business schools ranked by Poets Quants offer one-year options. In Europe, where the 12-month degree is more common, there are far more opportunities to get a quickie MBA at a prestige school, from INSEAD to IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.
The highest ranked U.S. school with a one-year program is Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, which started its program in 1964. The only other top 20 business schools with one-year options are Cornell University’s Johnson School and Emory University’s Goizueta.
Outside of the top 20 in the U.S. there are a number of very good one-year options at such prominent schools as Notre Dame s Mendoza College of Business, Babson College, and the University of Pittsburgh

Benjamin Franklin famously said that death and taxes are the only certainties in this world. That's good news for accountants because it means their skill set is often in demand. Still, there's plenty of competition. Since the law is constantly changing and most clients want professionals to help them save on their tax bill, accountants are always looking for ways to stay on top of their game. And one route they might take is an online MBA program in accounting.
"We prepare students for being more than an accountant," says John C. Draut, assistant professor and program director of the master of science in accountancy and master of science in taxation programs for Benedictine University. "That's what graduate school is all about."
Indeed, a good online MBA program in accounting can help students hone their number crunching while developing softer skills, such as leadership, team building, and communication. Accountants might be among the most underestimated employees

"Shoplifting" generally refers to the theft of merchandise from a store or place of business. Shoplifting is a type of larceny. which simply means taking the property of someone else without their permission, and with the intent to permanently deprive the owner of the property taken.
Though states may punish shoplifting under their general larceny or theft statutes, many states have enacted statutes to specifically address shoplifting. States may refer to the crime by different names, including "retail theft" and "concealment of merchandise."
These state laws vary widely, but generally, shoplifting offenses includes two elements:

2. the intent to deprive the items' rightful owner (typically the store) of possession of the items, without paying the purchase price.
Crucially, this means that in most states, one can break shoplifting laws without attempting to get o
