The Scholarship Fund will award $5,000 of financial assistance annually to each scholarship recipient attending an ABA-accredited law school. Twenty awards will be made to entering first-year students and may be renewable for two additional years, resulting in financial assistance totaling $15,000 during each student s time in law school.

Zehl Associates PC is pleased to announce a new scholarship offer for a law student attending (or accepted and planning to attend) an accredited law school and has either personally was the victim of or has a family member who was the victim of a major accident. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an applicant exclusively for law school tuition and related expenses.

Adler Pollock Sheehan P.C. Diversity Scholarship

Deadline: June 1, 2015

Each year, AP S will award a scholarship of $10,000 to a minority student entering his or her first year of law school. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage and assist a needy minority student, who has demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to the community, to attend law school and successfully enter the practice of law. Through the AP S Scholarship and other endeavors, AP S is making a concerted effort to diversify and enrich the firm and the profession. To be eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Member of a diverse group: for example, African American, American Indian, Hispanic, Asian/Pacific Islander, Gay/Lesbian, or other minority group
  • Entering first year of an ABA accredited law school anywhere in the United States
  • Permanent residence in Massachusetts or Rhode Island
  • Strong academic achievement
  • Financial need
  • Desire to work and reside in Massachusetts or Rhode Island upon graduation
  • Demonstrated commitment to the community
  • Vision of contributions to the profession and community after graduation

This is a $1,000 scholarship awarded twice a year to the winners of an essay contest.

Afghan-American Bar Association ( AABarA )

Created in 2009, AABarA seeks to further the advancement of Afghan-American attorneys, law students and those interested in pursuing a legal career through mentorship and networking, and through its outreach to the public, other legal organizations and government bodies. If you are of Afghan descent, identify as being Afghan, or are generally interested in the advancement of Afghan-American attorneys and would like more information or would like to take part in their mentorship program where they pair practicing Afghan-American attorneys with Afghan-American law students, please email AABarA at info@aabara.org. AABarA does not charge a membership fee.
