#Virginia Lemon Law Attorney
When a car buyer considers hiring an attorney to assist them in resolving an issue with a lemon vehicle, they often hesitate. Many consumers believe that involving a lawyer in their dispute with an auto manufacturer may just make matters worse. For the typical person, adding attorney fees to the sink hole of a lemon fiasco seems like adding insult to injury. After all, it s only a car. It might be better, they often assume, to just cut their losses and take their chances with the lemon, or even worse, do unto another as they have been done, and try to sell the car at a loss (a bargain ) to somebody else.
Lemon Law Reform Gives Comsumers Legal Protections Rights
Thanks to Lemon Law reform enacted during the last fifteen years, Virginia consumers need no longer hesitate about contacting an attorney when faced with stiff resistance from a car dealership or auto manufacturer over a vehicle that just can t be fixed. Virginia auto b

According to Newton s first law, an object in motion continues in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. It is the natural tendency of objects to keep on doing what they re doing. All objects resist changes in their state of motion. In the absence of an unbalanced force, an object in motion will maintain its state of motion. This is often called the law of inertia .
The law of inertia is most commonly experienced when riding in cars and trucks. In fact, the tendency of moving objects to continue in motion is a common cause of a variety of transportation injuries - of both small and large magnitudes. Consider for instance the unfortunate collision of a car with a wall. Upon contact with the wall, an unbalanced force acts upon the car to abruptly decelerate it to rest. Any passengers in the car will also be decelerated to rest if they are strapped to the car by seat belts. Being strapped tightly to the car, the p

The Occupational Safety and Health Act became federal law in 1970 when members of Congress passed it to facilitate increased safety in the workplace. An immediate effect of the legislation was the creation of two new federal entities: OSHA in the United States Department of Labor and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health under the Centers for Disease Control Prevention. While OSH, and therefore OSHA, covers many federal agencies, it does not apply to farms operated by families, local and state government agencies, self-employed individuals or any business under the jurisdiction of federal laws besides OSH.
The primary law that OSHA enforces is OSH, along with numerous regulations related to everything from longshoring guidelines to record keeping to workplace inspections. To pursue its agenda and persuade employers to remain in conformity, OSHA also has the ability to exact penalties for violations of employees' rights and, consequently, its standards.

Going through a divorce is one of the hardest things a person can experience in life. Studies have shown that divorce is the second most stressful event one can experience - second only to the death of a spouse. While going through a divorce, many individuals experience grief-based emotions such as sadness, depression, anger, lethargy, and anxiety. This trauma is amplified when couples choose an adversarial approach to the legal divorce .
However, statistics show that in most cases, couples often mutually agree on the divorce terms. In fact, an estimated 95% of US divorces are uncontested - meaning both parties have been able to come to an agreement about how to divide the property, who will retain custody of the children, and whether spousal support will be provided.

#Was it worth it?
Was it worth it?
Daianna Karaian, an alumna of the Kellogg School of Management, reveals how much of her MBA she still finds useful a year after graduation
THESE days, questioning the value of a business degree is one of the few growth industries. The Economist itself indulges in the practice from time to time. Is two years out of the job market and tens of thousands of dollars in tuition a wise investment? A year ago, as a newly-minted—and unemployed—MBA, I was sceptical.
With a background in sustainability and marketing gained from non-profits, government and small business, I went to business school to discover unexplored territory: the MBA would be my bridge into big business. I regularly pulled all-nighters poring over finance and accounting textbooks, poking into the darkest corners of Excel, and solemnly applying Little s Law to eliminate hypothetical bottlenecks in imaginary factories. Within six months I felt I

The MBA program at any school in the United Kingdom may be a good option for international students. The prestigious universities of Oxford and Cambridge lead the way, but there are many smaller schools with quality programs for those seeking to excel in the global business community.
One great advantage of most UK schools to many international students is that they accept a three-year bachelor’s degree. And an MBA can be earned in one year instead of the two years required at most schools in the United States.
Various degrees in countries such as India, the Bachelor of Arts(BA), Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), are all three-year programs. In some countries, these degrees are not recognized as equivalent to the four-year bachelor’s degrees issued there. However, the UK will often accept these as equal to an Ordinary British Bachelor Degree.
In some cases one will need to have graduated with Honors for the three-year degree to be acc

#Juris Doctor Degree - JD, Degree, Online Law Degree and Law School
JD Program Video
The Juris Doctor program focuses on the knowledge and skills necessary to be an effective member of the legal profession. Students work through the academic program much like they would if they were enrolled in a bricks-and-mortar law school. At the start of the first year, students are assigned to a section. They meet regularly as a group in their synchronous classes. They also get together outside of class—online, on the phone, and occasionally face to face—as they connect with a “study buddy” or form study groups. When the section completes the year, students tell us they know more about each other and have developed closer relationships than often resulted from their experiences in a traditional classroom environment.
Concord's 4-year, part-time, JD program is grounded in the core bar courses, with the first 2 years devoted entirely to required courses. Terms are year long and

When he was 15, Shlomo Zippel got his first job programming. And that was pretty much the end of his academic career.
"I had an arrangement with the principal — as long as I showed up for tests and did well in them, he wouldn't tell my parents that I wasn't at school," recalls Zippel. "Instead of getting on the school bus every morning I got on a normal bus that took me to the office I worked at." Zippel, who lived in Israel at the time, was developing software used by all major banks in the country plus Reuters Israel.
At 17, the hourly rate Zippel was making for coding was higher than his parents'. "My dad is a surgeon," Zippel says. "This might say more about how little doctors are paid in Israel though."

#Wrongful termination
A fired employee's claim that the firing breached an employment contract or some public law.
Where an employment contract requires termination only for cause, a terminated employee can sue for arbitrary discharge. Wrongful discharge claims usually arise, however, under the default rule of at-will employment. in which both labor and management can terminate the relationship at will. In some states, a terminated worker can sue for wrongful discharge under contract law if he can show an implied contract for permanent employment, combined with a termination that lacked proper cause. For example, some courts have held that a provision in an employee handbook providing that termination shall be for cause served to establish an implied contract, allowing a suit for wrongful termination. E.g. Nicosia v. Wakefern Food Corp. 643 A.2d 554 (N.J. 1994).
If basing the claim on a public law, the plaintiff must show unlawful action such as illegal dis

In a victory for the news media, the Supreme Judicial Court today sided with the Quincy Patriot Ledger and ruled that the affidavit filed by police in support of a search warrant should be open to the public.
The case involved a State Police investigation into allegations that a prominent Quincy real estate developer, William O Connell, had engaged in unlawful sexual relations with a minor. Shortly after police executed the warrant, a Quincy District Court judge impounded the affidavit.
The Patriot Ledger intervened in the criminal case to seek access to the impounded affidavit. Ruling that the document was presumptively public, the District Court judge lifted the impoundment order. Prosecutors and O Connell both appealed.
In its decision today, the SJC noted that there is a longstanding presumption in favor of public access to search warrants and supporting materials. While a judge may restrict access for good cause, impoundment should be used only in limite

#Wrongful Termination Law.
What is Wrongful Termination Law?
Wrongful termination law provides the rules for determining whether the firing of an employee was proper, and the remedies available if it was not. This area of the law is primarily concerned with violations of express or implied employment contracts. In other words, these cases focus on whether the employer was free to let the employee go, or if the termination was contrary to an agreement between the employer and the employee. While discrimination in the workplace based on sex, race, national origin, and other such characteristics can certainly lead to wrongful termination, those types of claims are usually classified as a separate legal topic known as Title VII law (because they are based on protections found in Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964).

At the center of nearly all wrongful termination controversies is the employment at will doctr

The JD is a full-time, two-year law degree that provides comprehensive and in-depth legal education to students without prior background in the law. The emphasis of the programme is not on rote learning of legal rules, but on critical appreciation and assessment of the underpinnings of these rules. The programme distinguishes itself by its small class size. JD students will be taught as a separate group of about 40 students. We believe that an intimate environment will facilitate interaction and enhance the learning experience.
The programme will provide students with a solid foundation in traditional common law subjects, which are the bedrock of the Hong Kong legal system. In addition, the programme will introduce students to new ways of thinking about the law. Courses on interdisciplinary and theoretical approaches to the law are a required component of the programme. Federal law is the whole of the laws passed by the federal government of a country. The federal government is the government that runs the entirety of the country, rather than governments at a smaller level such as state, province, or city. Federal law is typically established in one or more documents that clearly indicate the laws that govern the whole of the country, and may be created and upheld by one or more departments within the federal government. In the United States (US) for example, federal law is created by Congress, upheld by the president, and interpreted and enforced by the Supreme Court.
The US federal law consists of the US constitution, US treaties, federal common law. and federal statutes and regulations. This makes up the body of law for the whole of the US and all citizens within the nation are considered equally protected and governed by these laws. Due to the separation of powers between different levels of government, these laws will usually not deal

A common law right exists even when no law has been passed by a legislature to establish that right. The right exists because the courts of the common law jurisdiction have recognized it. A number of rights were recognized at common law, but in the US, in , the term common law is often associated with common law marriage. Common law principles also govern certain aspects of US trademark law.
The term common law refers to legal precedent that has been developed in a court system, rather than through legislative action. In a common law system. cases are decided based on past court decisions. This kind of system developed in England and has greatly influenced the legal systems of countries, including the US, which were once governed by Great Britain. Common law rights, as a general rule, do not exist outside these countries.
One of the most frequent examples of a common law right arises from common law marriage. This is the relationship that arises when a couple lives t

Disability law is largely regulated by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. This Act prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in employment, housing, education, and access to public services.
The ADA defines a disability as any of the following:
- "a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual."
- "a record of such impairment." or

Law School - is it for me?
Law school is very different than most undergraduate institutions. While law school students learn to become better thinkers, writers, and speakers, law school is not an extension of an undergraduate degree program.
Here are a few ways that law school differs from undergraduate education:
- Focus: Studies in law school will be more focused, all classes being law-related and including very few electives.
- Teaching Method: Many law schools utilize the Socratic Method, meaning students will be required to comprehend a large amount of information regarding legal cases and will be called upon regularly in the classroom. This case method is very effective at testing a student's ability to synthesize information and apply it to new situations.
- Grades: Grades are base

#Land Use and Zoning Law.
Zoning is the term used for designating permitted uses of certain parcels of land by local governments. The word is largely self-explanatory: the local government will designate various zones for different uses of land, such as industrial, agricultural, commercial, and residential. Zoning is also frequently used to designate the types of buildings that can be erected in a particular area, such as high density housing, highrises, maximum height restrictions, etc.
The primary philosophy behind zoning regulations is to separate different, incompatible property uses. For example, keeping large, smoke producing factories away from residential neighborhoods. However, in many instances, variances, or exceptions to the zoning rules, are possible. For example, a small residential variance might be granted to allow for a home in an industrial zone to house the night watchman. Usually, variances are granted because of some perceived hardship caused by

#Juris Doctor legal definition of Juris Doctor
Juris Doctor
The degree awarded to an individual upon the successful completion of law school.
Juris doctor, or doctor of Jurisprudence. commonly abbreviated J.D. is the degree commonly conferred by law schools. It is required in all states except California (which includes an option called law office study) to gain Admission to the Bar. Gaining admission to the bar means obtaining a license to practice law in a particular state or in federal court.
Until the 1930s and 1940s, many states did not require a person to have a law school degree in order to obtain a license to practice law. Most lawyers qualified for a license by working as an apprentice for an established attorney for a specified period. By the 1950s most states required a law school degree. State legislatures established this requirement to raise the standards of practicing attorneys and to restrict the number of attorneys. The degree offer

juvenile justice: an overview
Juvenile justice is the area of criminal law applicable to persons not old enough to be held responsible for criminal acts. In most states, the age for criminal culpability is set at 18 years. Juvenile law is mainly governed by state law and most states have enacted a juvenile code. The main goal of the juvenile justice system is rehabilitation rather than punishment.
Juveniles can be transferred into adult court if the juvenile court waives or relinquishes its jurisdiction .
State statutes creating juvenile courts and providing methods for dealing with juvenile delinquencey have generally been upheld by courts as an acceptable extension of state police power to ensure the safety and welfare of children. The doctrine of parens patriae authorizes the state to legislate for the protection, care, custody, and maintenance of children within its jurisdiction.

The first step of the eviction process in Kansas is the delivery to the tenant of what is called a three-day notice. The notice advises the tenant that she must correct a lease violation or vacate the premises within the three-day period of time set forth in the notice. For example, if the notice is provided because the tenant failed to pay rent, she must pay the rent due and owing within the three-day period or move out of the property. If the tenant fails to comply with the provisions of the three-day notice, the landlord has the legal right under Kansas law to pursue an eviction lawsuit.
The second phase of the eviction process in Kansas is a forcible detainer case. Forcible detainer is an eviction lawsuit in the state of Kansas. A forcible detainer case is filed in the county or district court in the county where the rental property is located. The case is filed pursuant to the provisions of the Kansas limited actions law, found at Kansas Statutes Annotated, Chapter 61.
