By Michelle Fabio. Law School Expert
With the ever-increasing popularity of distance learning. you may be wondering whether you can earn your law degree online. The answer is yes, you can. What are online law degree programs like?
Just as with traditional law school programs, online law schools have certain required courses and other electives, which vary by school. Most online law school classes meet virtually for class discussions, and the Socratic Method may even be used.

#Car Repossession Laws.
Talk To a Bankruptcy Lawyer
Most people depend on their car to go to work, school, the grocery store, and just about anywhere else they have to be. Therefore, the prospect of having a car taken away (repossessed) is usually a scary one since most people would be stranded without it. But if you fall behind on your car payments, this is exactly what might happen if you are not careful. This is called car or vehicle repossession.
Read on to learn how repossessions work, how to get your car back, and what you can do to avoid them.
Can the Lender Seize My Car?
Each state has its own set of laws and rules that govern repossession; however the rules are similar no matter where you live. Once you finance or lease a car, your car lender has certain rights and remedies that come with the contract you sign. One remedy allows the lender to repossess your car if you default under the terms of your agreement. Your

#Capital markets law: area of practice
Capital markets lawyers typically advise companies and banks raising money in the international capital markets.
For any business, obtaining credit can be its lifeblood: it is often the key means by which a business can finance expansion. Capital markets lawyers advise banks and other companies on how to raise funding in the financial markets.
A capital markets practice area is closely linked to a firm’s banking and finance department. The banking team typically acts for banks lending to companies – or, indeed, companies borrowing from banks. Capital markets lawyers, on the other hand, typically advise companies and banks raising money in the international capital markets. Clients can raise capital markets finance in various ways including through issuing shares or bonds. A privately owned company might, for example, issue shares into the international markets; by listing its shares on a stock exchange, the company can

This is a piece about the laws relating to surrogacy. For many people surrogacy is the only means to achieve parenthood. However the current surrogacy laws tend to leave the applicants and the child vulnerable.
Why Surrogacy Laws Need Reviewing
Prior to retiring I lived in the UK and worked for 15years as a self employed Guardian. A Guardian is a qualified experienced person who is appointed by the Courts to represent the wishes and feelings of children in Care Proceedings and Adoption. The Guardian’s role is to work in partnership with a solicitor, who legally represents the child, to investigate the child’s circumstances and interview any relevant person involved with the child such as social workers, family and schools. She/he then writes a report for the Court detailing the child’s wishes and feelings, his/her findings and making a recommendation regarding the child’s future.

#Canon Law
Canon is the Greek word for rule, norm, standard or measure. It is used in several ways in church language:
- The canon of Sacred Scripture is the list of books recognized by the church as inspired by the Holy Spirit.
- Before the liturgical reforms of the Second Vatican Council, the single eucharistic prayer used universally in the Latin Mass was called the Roman Canon. Now that there are four eucharistic prayers in general use, they are usually referred to as Eucharistic Prayer I, II, III or IV, but they may also be called canons. The first of these is still called the Roman Canon because it is nearly identical to the original Roman Canon .
- Canon is another name for a law in the Code of Canon Law. (Adjective form is canonical .)
Canon Law is a code of ecclesiastical laws governing the Catholic Church. In the Latin or Western Church,

#Car Repossession Laws.
Most people who own a car rely on it for getting virtually everywhere they need to go. That may include school, church, the store, or to pick up the kids; but for most, it primarily includes work. Thus, when you are late on your car payments, it may seem terribly ironic that the bank wants to deprive you of the means of getting to work to pay them back faster, but that is exactly what could happen.
Whether leased or finance, your creditor has important rights to possession of the vehicle in the event of a default. These rights are established in both the lending documents signed at the time of purchase and in the laws of the state in which you live. Most commonly, when a buyer fails to make timely payments on a vehicle, the lender will have a contractual and statutory right to take possession of the vehicle without going to court or giving you advance warning. This is what is known by most as a repossession. Your creditor may also be able to

Complaints about Cars
Most states have some form of a lemon law to protect car buyers in situations where they have purchased a vehicle that is defective beyond repair. These laws tend to only apply to new cars, but you should check with your state s consumer protection office to see if they also cover used cars. Each state has its own lemon law requirements, but overall the ability for a car to qualify as a lemon depends on a few things:
- Number of miles driven The defects had to happen within a certain number of months or miles driven.
- Substantial defects Defects have to be substantial, and involve the actual operation of the car, such as the ignitition. brakes, engine, transmission, or other major parts of the car.
- Reasonable repair attempts You have to give mechanics multiple chances to repair the problems.
- Number of days in the shop Your car has to have been in the mechanic s s

The principle that individuals are and can be held criminally accountable for violations of the laws of war dates back to many years. However, it was only after World War II and the Nuremberg and Tokyo trials, set up to judge those German and Japanese military leaders accused of serious crimes during the war, that the idea of individual criminal responsibility for serious breaches of international law gained ground.
The current system of international criminal law works through international ad hoc tribunals, internationalised or mixed tribunals, the International Criminal Court as well as national courts (military tribunals and ordinary courts). One of the legal consequences of framing an act as an international crime is that it may give rise to what is called universal jurisdiction, which allows any state to try alleged perpetrators, even in the absence of any link between the accused and the state exercising jurisdiction.

#Child Abuse Protection Laws - Darkness to Light
Child abuse laws exist on the federal, state and local levels. Legislation serves to keep children free from exploitation, harm, and danger. The Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA), passed by the federal government in 1974 and reauthorized in 2010 is the largest body of legislation with regard to the fair, ethical and legal treatment of children and is intended to keep them free from all forms of abuse including physical, sexual, emotional and psychological.
Federal laws provide standards and guidelines; however, most child abuse issues are governed by state laws and regulations. All states have enacted laws for the protection of children from abuse and neglect. Trial judges are not perfect and can make mistakes; at other times, one of the parties refuses to accept the trial court s final decision. In either case.

#Child Abuse Law.
What is Child Abuse Law?
Child abuse law provides the rules for holding individuals who harm children legally accountable for their actions. These laws are directed at parents, guardians, caretakers, and anyone else responsible for a childs wellbeing. Child abuse is not limited to physical harm. Most child abuse statutes also include emotional harm, sexual abuse or exploitation, as well as acts or failures to act that result in an imminent risk of danger to the child. Allegations of child abuse can result in criminal charges and/or the initiation of a child neglect case in civil court. Statutes prohibiting child abuse have been enacted at the state and federal level.
Defending Against Criminal Charges
People are arrested on charges of child abuse every day in the United States. Many of these individuals did in fact cause harm to a child and deserve to be dealt with accordingly. However, others end up on the wrong side of the

#Child Custody
Child custody: an overview
In cases of divorce, the court of jurisdiction for the divorce proceedings also determines child custody arrangements. Under the common statutory provision, if the spouses have children together while married, the parents have joint guardianship over that child and the parental rights are equal. Each parent has an equal right to the custody of the child when they separate.
When determining the home in which to place the child, the court strives to reach a decision in "the best interests of the child." A decision in "the best interests of the child" requires considering the wishes of the child's parents, the wishes of the child, and the child's relationship with each of the parents, siblings, other persons who may substantially impact the child's best interests, the child's comfort in his home, school, and community, and the mental and physical health of the involved individuals.

#Child Abuse Overview
Child Abuse: Definition
Child abuse is broadly defined in many states as any type of cruelty inflicted upon a child, including mental abuse, physical harm, neglect, and sexual abuse or exploitation. The specific crimes charged in instances of child abuse can include assault and battery. In many states, certain individuals and caregivers are required by law to report suspected child abuse. Nevertheless, unfortunately, many cases of child abuse go unreported.
A child who has been abused or neglected may experience a range of problems, such as relationship difficulties, lack of trust of adults, emotional outbursts (or retreat), low performance at school, depression, anxiety, and anger.
The Elements of a Child Abuse Charge
As noted above, child abuse is a crime that encompasses a variety of behaviors involving physical, emotional, or sexual mistreatment or neglect upon a child. State child abuse laws define child abuse as any ac

#Child Abuse And Neglect Laws Aren t Being Enforced, Report Finds: Shots - Health News: NPR
Listen to the Story
Will Crocker/Getty Images
Laws intended to protect children from abuse and neglect are not being properly enforced, and the federal government is to blame. That's according to a study by the Children's Advocacy Institute at the University of San Diego School of Law, which says children are suffering as a result.
The numbers are grim. Almost 680,000 children in the United States were the victims of abuse and neglect in 2013. More than 1,500 of them died.
Federal officials say they're encouraged that the numbers are lower than they were in 2012. But children's advocates say abuse is so often not reported that it's impossible to know if there's really been a decline.
"This is just something that's chronically underreported," says Elisa Weichel, a staff attorney with the Children's Advocacy Institute, which published the report Tuesda

#Child Custody Law.
What is Child Custody law? This subset of law also often overlaps with facets of divorce law. Child custody refers to the legal obligation and right a parent or guardian has to care for, make decisions for, supervise, educate and control a minor child for whom he/she is responsible. The issue of child custody may arise in any of the following situations: when a married couple with a minor child of the marriage seeks a divorce; when two unmarried parents of a minor child cannot come to an agreement about custody outside of court; when a parent or legal guardian is found to be unfit or dangerous for the childs well-being by a court or state agency; and when either or both parents are absent or deceased. Custody is not limited to the childs parent, but can also be awarded to other family members, to a foster parent or group home, or to other organizations or institutions.
There are two main categories for child custody, legal and physical, which ar

All transactions in Indian real estate sector are governed by various laws enacted by the Central Government of India and respective State governments. One such law is the RENTAL LAWS. These laws govern the rental of commercial and residential property and are necessary to enforce individual civil rights of both landlord and tenant and prevention of any kind of deceit.
The real estate scene in India is flawed by land market distortions. The most glaring ones include inflexible zoning, rent and tenancy laws. Zoning laws, rent controls and protected tenancies have been detrimental to the healthy rental trends in India. They have put a freeze to land in city centers that could be otherwise made available for new retail outlets and flats.
These laws also gloss over operational inefficiencies and scuttle competition. Tenants residing could not be evicted for along time and would not surrender their cheap tenancies on their own volition. The renovation of

AccreditedMBA is a guide to online MBA programs and careers. Earning your MBA from an accredited school has never been easier with the advent of online education. You can pursue a graduate degree without even having to visit a school’s campus.
When looking into online MBA programs, you want to make sure the program is accredited by a national or regional organization. Some online programs are accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council. While this organization is slowly gaining respect in the education community, it is not among the top accreditation sources. Ask a school advisor about the program’s accreditation. Remember just because a school is accredited in one program does not mean all of the programs are accredited. It is best to double check with an advisor before committing to courses or handing over a check.
You can check a school’s accreditation by visiting this site of the U.S. Department of Education and entering the appropriate information.

Go to any good College or University where you can get good grades. As for a major, do what interests you. Law schools, unlike medical schools, do not have rigid pre-set requirements.
First, a word on what this article is talking about: we are not discussing the best places to do pre-law. Taking pre-law is generally a mistake if you want to go to law school. If your chosen school, has a major that is actually called pre-law, do not take it thinking that will help you get into law school.
It may in fact hurt you: law school admissions board do not highly respect pre-law as major, possibly because it indicates you have no interest in expanding yourself as a person beyond the legal field, and also because these courses really do nothing to prepare you for law school that a simple English, hi

#China Law - Policy
Ready for National Security!
Within a day of its publication of the second Draft Foreign NGO Law on May 5, the Chinese government also published for comment a Draft National Security Law. Today, that document became law. Although criticized for its vagueness and breadth, the passed law is still just as broad if not more so. The new law also covers protection of seabeds and adds the word extremism to the provision on terrorism (Article 28), a provision that immediately follows the one that protects normal religious activity and calls for the opposition to foreign influences and interference in domestic religious affairs (Article 27).
The law itself comes off more as abstract principles. But make no mistake, the Chinese government and the Public Security Bureau which has oversight of the Law, means business. The fact that they elevated this abstract document to the level of a law is a telling sign and foreign governments should be looki

#Child Support Law.
What is Child Support Law?
Child support law deals with the legal obligation of non-custodial parents to contribute financially to the rearing of their children. These laws are enacted at the state level. However, because a child support order remains in effect until a child reaches the age of majority (or even longer in some instances), administration of the order can become a multi-jurisdictional issue as parents and children relocate. Determinations of child support are usually incorporated into family law cases that also cover matters such as divorce, separation, paternity, custody, and visitation. Like other family law decrees, support determinations are subject to modification when appropriate.
The obligation to pay child support is considered to be independent of any other rights or responsibilities of the non-custodial parent. For example, it is quite common for a court to decide questions of child support and visitation at the sam

SCIENTIFIC LAWS and THEORIES
I've had a student ask me to clarify the difference between a scientific law and a theory . This person asked, in part:
. Is a law, in essence, something which has no detractors -- a unifying 'concept' for which scientists (at the present time) are in accordance with? Is a law a single idea by which all scientists, regardless of discipline, conform?
Can a theory be looked at as a 'transitory' law (i.e. a law in waiting)? In contrast to a law, is it correct to say that there can be several scientific theories about a particular phenomena whereas a law represents a single unified agreement among all scientists .
Such questions are very common. The difference between a law and a theory often confuses people. This happens, in part, because even among scientists there can be different usage of these terms. Of course, to the general public, these terms have very different meanings and connotations. I sugg
