A labor law attorney is a lawyer who represents employers or employees in legal disputes, generally over the terms and conditions of employment. A labor law attorney can be in private practice or work for a law firm. but some labor law attorneys work directly for employers or for labor unions. While labor law attorneys are useful in situations where employers and their employees are arguing a case before a judge, most labor law attorneys aren't involved in litigation. Instead, they specialize in consultation and negotiations intended to avoid litigation. When an employer opens a new facility, for example, consultation with a labor law attorney will be a routine part of the planning process, to familiarize the employer with things like local labor law and union activity in the region.
Labor law in the United States seems fairly straightforward, but it can be quite complex in certain circumstances, and often find themselves involved in disputes over those elements of their rel

Many states have enacted criminal law and family law statutes related to the prevention and prosecution of domestic violence incidents. In Florida, the state offers legal options through both the criminal and civil court systems. For example, state residents can request injunctions, also known as restraining orders, through the Florida family courts.
Florida's crime laws define domestic violence as specified types of violence committed against a family or household member. In particular, an individual can commit domestic violence against a spouse, ex-spouse, the co-parent of the individual's child, or a relative related to the individual by blood or marriage. Florida laws also protect against domestic violence occurring between individuals who currently cohabitate or who formerly cohabitated together in the same household.
The types of crimes qualifying as domestic violence under Florida law include assault and aggravated assault, battery and aggravated battery, sexu

For the 22nd year volunteers with the USC School of Law Pro Bono Program have conscientiously prepared returns for elderly and low income tax payers in SC. For 8 weeks the trained and certified students work through the intricacies of the 1040. This year everyone had to learn how to navigate the Affordable Care Act and explain how it affects tax status. Florida Wiretapping Law
Florida's wiretapping law is a two-party consent law. Florida makes it a crime to intercept or record a wire, oral, or electronic communication in Florida, unless all parties to the communication consent. See Fla. Stat. ch. 934.03. Florida law makes an exception for in-person communications when the parties do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy in the conversation, such as when they are engaged in conversation in a public place where they might reasonably be overheard. If you are operating in Florida, you may record these kinds of in-person conversations without breaking the law. However, you should always get the consent of all parties before recording any t

Abraham Lincoln University (School of Law)
Abraham Lincoln University School of Law offers a unique program for the study of law. This program is unlike any other in the United States. We combine traditional law school materials with time-tested teaching techniques to create a truly unique law program. I would like to share with you some highlights of our program and to explain how we differ from traditional law schools. I will explain the advantages that Abraham Lincoln Law School has over most traditional law schools.
Traditional law schools teach by the casebook/Socratic method. This means that students read books with edited cases that they must "brief" and then attend classes where students are called upon to recite their "briefs." A "brief" is a synopsis of a case that generally contains a recitation of the relevant facts, the issue before the court, the relevant rule of law, the analysis by the court and the court’s conclusion. The professor will then m

People are increasingly concerned about choosing the next move in life. They are increasingly concerned about their career and the profession that they are to take. It takes a good deal of thinking to go with the subject of inclination and it becomes all the more important to decide upon a good institution to set a career. Law is one of the most common fields that people choose for their career.
While a career in law is profitable enough, there are a number of things that are to be considered before getting into a law school. In this respect it is important to mention that the quality and reputation of the school is of concern. The second point which is equally important is the fact that law schools are hugely expensive and it requires a good fortune for the enthusiasts who want to etch a career in law. It is thus that many are seen looking for law schools that offer courses of free of charge.
While there are very few free law schools available in the United States,

#Fordham Law Review
Twice in the past two years, the U.S. Supreme Court has approved educational diversity as a compelling state interest that justifies the use of race in higher education admissions decisions. Nevertheless, it remains on somewhat shaky ground. Over the past decade, the Court has emphasized that its acceptance of diversity stems from the expectation that a diverse student body will enhance the classroom environment, with students drawing on their diverse backgrounds during classroom conversations that ultimately bring the law to life. Yet, the Court provides no support for its assumption that admitting and enrolling diverse students actually result in these educational benefits. In fact, empirical research on law students indicates that structural diversity (i.e. diversity in numbers) does not lead automatically to interactional diversity (i.e. meaningful interaction among diverse students) or classroom diversity (i.e. meaningful diverse interaction in the classroo

Commercial law is the body of law that governs the broad and sometimes vague areas of business, consumer transaction, and commerce. The application of commercial law has developed a specific set of laws that apply to commercial activities, pursuits, and transactions. This arm of civil law deals with issues both simple and complex that often relate to questions of both public and private sector laws. Commercial law governs sale and distribution of goods, and proper procedure for payment of transactions.
Many nations operate under civil codes that are made of detailed statements regarding commercial law. In the United States (US), commercial law is regulated by Congress under the power granted to it to regulate interstate commerce, and by state governments under jurisdiction of police power. The commercial laws in the US were adopted from 17th century principles of the law merchant and were first incorporated into common law. The US federal government has attempted to have som

#French law blocking terrorist and child abuse sites comes into effect
France has introduced a new law that allows government agencies to order the blocking of websites that advocate acts of terrorism or contain images of child abuse.
The legislation was brought in by revisions to 2011’s Loppsi Act, and an anti-terror bill passed by the French senate in October, but can now be used by the general directorate of the police’s cybercrime unit to force French internet service providers to block sites within 24 hours, without a court order.
Sites that are blocked will redirect to a page from the interior ministry describing why the action was taken. The sites will be checked quarterly to make sure they continue to display the proscribed content and that the block is still appropriate.
Costs incurred by the ISPs as part of the block can be recovered from the French government, while sites can appeal if they have sufficient grounds to do so.
The bill was cr

The term real estate generally refers to ownership or use of land. Real estate law is a branch of civil law that covers the right to possess, use, and enjoy land and the permanent man-made additions attached to it. Real estate law directly or indirectly impacts most of us on a daily basis, affecting homeowners, renters, landlords, home buyers and home sellers.
In the United States, every state has exclusive jurisdiction over the land within its borders. Each state has the power to determine the form and effect of a transfer of real property in its jurisdiction. As a result, state law requirements vary significantly from state to state.
Real Property & Personal Property
There are generally two types of property: real property and personal property. Most of the legal concepts and rules associated with both types of property are derived from British common law. Back then, "real property," often shortened to just property, generally referred to land and fi

#For-Profit Law Schools: Impacting the Future of Legal Education
2C210" /% The InfiLaw System. a for-profit company that owns several law schools and professional development firms, is challenging the status quo in legal education in a way similar to for-profit education companies such as University of Phoenix, Strayer, and DeVry. However, recent features in the Wall Street Journal. the ABA Journal. and the Charleston Post and Courier suggest that this new approach has not been wholly well-received.
InfiLaw applies its profit-oriented approach to legal education. According to its website, InfiLaw creates curricula based on “emerging market realities,” job demand, job competition, and return on investment. Founded in 2004 by Sterling Partners, a private-equity group, InfiLaw quickly purchased two for-profit independent schools, Florida Coastal School of Law (Jacksonville, FL) and Phoenix School of Law (Phoenix, AZ). An increasing number of law schools are offering two-year programs.
Traditionally, law school degrees require three years of full time study. However, in recent years students have expressed increasing concerns about the time and cost required to become lawyers. In response, several law schools have developed accelerated programs, allowing students to earn their degrees after two intensive years. According to U.S. News and World Report, these programs should only increase in popularity and number over the coming years.
Southwestern Law School, located in Los Angeles, California, has the country's oldest two-year J.D. program. Southwestern requires student commitment over both summers, although in the second summer that commitment may be fulfilled by enrolling in classes, participating in an externship or studying abroad. Students who struggle during their first year in this program may take a modified curriculum in the second year that requires fewer units at a time

In most cases, it is considered harassment when there are repeated acts upon an individual. Harassment is the act of systematic and/or continued unwanted and annoying actions of one party or a group, including threats and demands. As such, one phone call to check if you were calling the correct number would not be considered as harassment. There would have to be more calls involved for it to be considered harassment.
If the reports filed by a neighbor against minor children are not true, and you have proof of this, then it the repeated reports by the neighbor could be considered a form of harassment as well as a form of defamation of character. To prove defamation of character and harassment, you will need three things in most cases:
1. Proof that there were defamatory comment/comments about you or your children you will be representing
2. These comments were made to third parties
3. That you have experienced damages or injuries to your reputation thr

#Foreclosure Law.
What is Foreclosure Law?
Foreclosure law provides the means for a mortgage lender to take possession and sell a home when the borrower has defaulted on the loan. The money from the sale is used to pay off the balance of the loan, and the new buyer takes the home free of the mortgage. If the proceeds are not enough to pay off the loan, the borrower may be held personally liable for the difference, in addition to being forced out of the house. From the lenders perspective, foreclosure is slow and expensive. Thus, the lender will usually be just as motivated as the borrower to see that the loan is paid on time and foreclosure does not become necessary.
To understand foreclosure law, it helps to consider the nature of a mortgage. Mortgages are used when potential homebuyers seek to borrow purchase money, or when homeowners with equity in their property want to borrow cash to make home improvements or for other purposes. In either case, a bank l

#France announces world’s toughest anti-smoking laws - Health News - Health - Families - The Independent
Friday 26 September 2014
France, where a Gauloise once hung from the bottom lip of every actor or intellectual, plans to move to one of the toughest anti-tobacco regimes in the world.
Garish colours and brand names on cigarette packets will be replaced by health warnings in large type and by prominent photographs of the diseased organs of smokers. Car drivers and passengers will be banned from lighting up in the presence of children under 12.
Although these measures will not take effect until 2016, an uncompromising TV and radio campaign started today, warning that tobacco kills one in two smokers. There will also be a levy on tobacco companies to fund anti-smoking campaigns, and measures to expose the hidden lobbying of the tobacco industry.
The Health Minister, Marisol Touraine, said: “We can no longer accept the fact that the number of deaths c

Family Lawyers handle cases that involve the legal relationships among family members, including - parents, children, husbands, wives, and domestic partners. Family laws differ from state to state but generally they are broken down into the sub-categories below.
Adoption lawyers are those that specialize in the process that recognizes an adult as the parent of a child who is not their biological child. All adoptions must be approved through the court system. Married couples, single people, and gay or lesbian couples all have an equal right to adoption through adoption laws, though the costs of adoption can be prohibitive.
Child custody and visitation laws can frame contentious issues for divorced or separated couples. Legal and physical custody lawyers handle the two types of child custody. Physical custody laws describe a type of child custody that permits a parent to have a child live with him/her. Visitation rights are usually granted to a parent

#Garnishment legal definition of garnishment
Garnishment
A legal procedure by which a creditor can collect what a debtor owes by reaching the debtor's property when it is in the hands of someone other than the debtor.
Garnishment is a drastic measure for collecting a debt. A court order of garnishment allows a creditor to take the property of a debtor when the debtor does not possess the property. A garnishment action is taken against the debtor as defendant and the property holder as garnishee. Garnishment is regulated by statutes, and is usually reserved for the creditor who has obtained a judgment, or court order, against the debtor.
A debtor's property may be garnished before it ever reaches the debtor. For example, if a debtor's work earnings are garnished, a portion of the wages owed by the employer go directly to the Judgment Creditor and is never seen by the debtor.
Some property is exempt from garnishment. Exemptions are created by

Section 2 prohibits voting practices that have the purpose or result of discriminating against members of a racial or minority language group. Plaintiffs must establish, “based on the totality of circumstances. that its members have less opportunity than other members of the electorate to participate in the political process and to elect representatives of their choice.” Section 2 has been used most frequently to challenge election systems that dilute minority voting strength, such as literacy tests and similar devices that were historically used to disfranchise racial minorities.
Meanwhile, Under Section 5, specific states and counties with a history of discrimination must receive federal preclearance before they implement any change affecting voting. These jurisdictions may

Coordinators are educated and prepared to mobilize Citizen Lobbyists and to approach lawmakers with the best arguments for adopting the legislation.
We don't want individuals with different (often very personal) motives attempting to represent thousands or millions of their fellow state residents without the expertise Coordinators bring to the task. Coordinators give lawmakers the same text written by Suffolk University Law Professor, David Yamada, but lawmakers do make changes as they wish. Further, bills are revised (amended) in committees. Internet service provider AOL is becoming frustrated by the lack of effective anti-spam laws in the UK.
"While the volume of spam originating in the UK may be lower than many countries, strong anti-spam legislation sends the right signal," said a spokesman for AOL.
"We would like more legal avenues in the UK to hit spammers where it really hurts - in the pocket," he said.
The problem lies in loopholes which effectively give spammers the right to spam any address in the UK, said Steve Linford, who heads up Spamhaus.
"British law allows spammers to spam business addresses and it is up to spammers to determine whether an address is a private one or a business one," he told the BBC News website.
"Apparently the Department of Trade and Industry was told that British businesses wanted spam, although we have never heard of any," he said.
The job of enforcing the spam law falls to the Office of th

#Frequently Asked Questions About Custody - Access
1. What do the words ‘custody’ and ‘access’ mean?
Custody is the term used to describe where the children live, and who makes decision for or about the children.
2. What does ‘best interests of the child’ mean?
This is the test that the court uses to make decisions about custody of and access with children, or parenting arrangements of any kind, where the children s needs and well-being are always the most important factors. The judge must decide what is best for the children, not what is best for the parents.
In February 2013, Nova Scotia s Maintenance and Custody Act was changed. The Act now includes a list of factors that judges must consider when making decisions about the best interests of a child. Judges will consider all relevant circumstances they are not limited to considering only the factors on the list.
The factors that judges must consider are:

Legislation such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and No Child Left Behind (NCLB) compel states to provide a free and appropriate public education to ensure equal opportunities for all students. The IDEA provides the legal framework for a “free and appropriate public education” to students with disabilities. This federal statute, along with related state statues and regulations, ensures that children with disabilities receive the same education as their non-disabled peers. Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) - specialized educational programs tailored to the child’s needs - are often established to allow disabled children to receive a free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment possible.

Many states have implemented child passenger safety laws, and they have made them a part of their primary enforcement law. That means police can stop drivers and write tickets for having improperly restrained children in the vehicle. But do these laws have an effect on drivers?
Booster seats are probably the least understood and least used child safety restraint. Many parents believe that boosters are an unnecessary expense, erroneously thinking that a seat belt will do just as well. Here we will look at one state that implemented a booster seat law, and its effect on children who live in that state.
The state of Wisconsin implemented their booster seat law in June of 2006. It states that children must be restrained in a booster seat if they are:
- Between 4 and 8 years old
- Between 40 and 79 pounds in weight
- No taller than 4 9
The law was well-publicized and promoted through news conferences and safety seat checks thr

It may seem obvious, but what is law. Law, or legal studies, comes into contact with almost every area of human life, touching upon issues relating to business, economics, politics, the environment, human rights, international relations and trade. It is telling that the first academic degrees developed were all related to law. As a law student, you can expect to learn how to tackle some of the most problematic – indeed, often seemingly irresolvable – conflicts and issues in modern society and morality. In providing a framework through which to examine and understand different societies and cultures, law degrees are a useful way to prepare not only for specific legal careers, but for a broad range of professional roles – and indeed, for life in general.
There are lots of different types of law degrees available, varying according to where you study. In most countries, law degrees take the form of an LLB (Bachelor of Laws) which allows you to

Yesterday, a student at Oxford’s Said Business School challenged her fellow students to donate to a fundraising campaign for victims of the Nepal earthquake, pledging to personally match every dollar raised in the next seven days, up to $20,000. Today, the school is already 24 percent toward its goal, having raised $4,875.
April Chapman, who pledged to match funds raised by the students in Said’s Diploma in Strategy and Innovation program, said that social media posts and emails began to fly as soon as the news broke, and her cohort immediately decided that raising an immediate financial gift would be the best way to make a difference. Chapman serves as co-chair of the World Vision Innovation Fund, a faith-based humanitarian development and relief organization serving the poor in more than 100 countries. #Garnishment - What you need to know
Garnishment What you need to know
A garnishment is the process of withholding earnings from an individual to repay a debt obligation. In most situations, the employer is required to withhold funds from a legal or equitable procedure. This may be because of a court order, an IRS tax debt or other collection method. If you are facing garnishment, it pays to know what your options are and what is likely to happen to you.
Garnishment is a legal process. Not just anyone can withhold money from your paycheck. The only way for an individual, bank, tax authority or anyone else to garnish you is to take legal action against you (though there are several methods of doing so.) In the case of wage garnishment, the most common form. the debt collector must win the lawsuit and be given the right to take this step.

In the world of physics, there are few people who have been more influential than Sir Isaac Newton. In addition to his contributions to astronomy, mathematics, and empirical philosophy, he is also the man who pioneered classical physics with his laws of motion. Of these, the first, otherwise known as the Law of Inertia, is the most famous and arguably the most important. In the language of science, this law states that: Every body remains in a state of constant velocity unless acted upon by an external unbalanced force. This means that in the absence of a non-zero net force, the center of mass of a body either remains at rest, or moves at a constant velocity. Put simply, it states that a body will remain at rest or in motion unless acted upon by an external and unbalanced force.
Prior to Aristotle’s theories on inertia, the most generally accepted theory of motion was based on Aristotelian phil

#Per Se Violated Labor Law With ‘Service Charge, ’ Inquiry Finds - The New York Times
A private event at Per Se, a restaurant with prices to match its opulent confines at the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle, near the luxury skyscrapers often called Billionaires Row, is yet another level of exclusivity in a dining experience where Nova Scotia lobster coddled in butter joins a menu where foie gras is followed by caviar and truffles.
In this ultraluxury world, it can almost make sense that even though the restaurant embeds the gratuity for its staff in the cost of its $310-per-person dinner prix fixe, it also demands an extra charge for private dining.
But a 20 percent “service fee” for such events, like a fancy soiree for an elopement in the private dining room, was, for a time, not destined just for the waiters who rush Italian white truffles and other delicacies to the tables, an investigation by the New York State attorney general’s office found.

Germany debates new immigration law amid skills shortage
Thomas de Maizière is convinced Germany does not need a new immigration law. But outside the center-right, many are in favour of making it easier for foreign nationals to enter the labour market, where they are urgently needed. EurActiv Germany reports .
Germany's Minister of the Interior has a new term for migration: 'Need-based management'. Using this kind of language, De Maizière intends to allow more people to enter the country, who belong to occupational groups with a skills shortage.
The CDU politician's plan comes in the face of a steadily aging population in Germany.

#Georgia Legal Ages Laws
State laws recognize the capacity of individuals to enter into marriage or otherwise make legal decisions, which includes both mental capacity and maturity. Those under the age of majority, or minors, are considered incapable of such legal decisions. Georgia legal ages laws do not specify at which age a minor is eligible for emancipation from his or her parents, but the state requires individuals to be 18 years old in order to consent to medical treatment or enter into a contract.
Minors' Consent to Medical Treatment
18 for treatment in general (В§31-9-2); if treatment is for VD, minor may consent; female minor has valid consent for treatment in connection with pregnancy
Age of Majority in Georgia
Georgia's age of majority is 18. When you turn 18, you will gain many of the rights and responsibilities that most other adults have. Some of your new rights include the right to vote, and you will now be able to get credit c

If you want to work for one of the world’s most elite and prestigious organizations, a Harvard Business School MBA is your ticket to entry.
McKinsey Co. the global consulting company, leads all employers of HBS grads, with 573 MBAs. That’s considerably more than the next major employer of Harvard MBAs, surprisingly IBM, with 361 MBAs from Harvard, according to an analysis of LinkedIn member profiles by Poets Quants. This is an especially rare look at HBS employment because Harvard, unlike most schools, does not report how many of its graduates are hired by the firms that recruit there.
As you’d expect, consulting looms large in the mix of top HBS employers. Four of the top five employers are consulting shops, and many of the MBAs at IBM are in consulting roles. The Boston Consulting Group boasts 343 HBS MBAs, Bain Co. has 307, and Deloitte has 242.
High tech firms are prominent as well. Search giant Google has 228 employees who list

A law firm specializing in nursing home abuse, Brayton Purcell LLP, states that senior citizens are subject to five main forms of elder abuse. These elders have either been physically abused, sexually abused, emotionally abused, taken advantage of financially or experienced neglect.
HelpGuide.org, a group founded by Robert and Jeanne Segal to help people deal with abuse, among other things, guides us in understanding more about this abuse. This group, also made up of health experts, writers and web professionals, has discovered that "more than half a million reports of abuse against elderly Americans reach authorities every year, and millions more cases go unreported."
HelpGuide.org has discovered some of the reasons or motivations of the abusers. In some cases, the senior is so frail that he is not able to "stand up to bullying or to fight back if attacked." Some seniors are conned or taken advantage of because they are no longer able to see, hear or think clearly.

#Get Information About Child Labor
Today, approximately 80% of all students work sometime during high school. Child labor laws ensure that our youth have the necessary time to pursue their education and be employed in a safe workplace. Georgia's child labor law was written in 1878 whereas the federal child labor law is provided for under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) enacted in 1938.
When there are differences between federal and state laws pertaining to child labor, the law providing the more stringent standard is observed.
The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) Child Labor section administers and monitors the guidelines and restrictions for the employment of youth who have not yet reached their 18th birthday and performs the following functions:
- Reviews all issued Employment Certificates, commonly called Work Permits, to ensure job duties do not appear to be in violation of the law and that the form has been properly completed;

#Gilbert Law Summaries on Constitutional Law (9780314276179): Jesse Choper: Books
Most Helpful Customer Reviews
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Please keep in mind when studying the Constitution, both procedural and substantive law.
Frankly, many an answer on a test was simply answered quickly with just sufficient writing on using, and knowing the difference between procedural and substantive law. Many may interpret my words as over simplistic. Yet I tell you my professors were taken in that I could, and with ease pull the necessary elements from the Constitution to make my argument, again by drawing upon both procedural and substantive law.
The reason why I have chosen Chapter Four is because of DEFENSE. Attorneys, and students of the Constitution will find that in the heat of battle (debate). To construct a defense, you will need to get to the elements in the Amendments of DEFENSE quickly.
One thing the book has omitted and that is 16

Finding Law Clerk Jobs Online
There are plenty of law clerk jobs, and that s another part of the problem. Most law clerks are qualified to do only some of these jobs. They don t have enough experience in some areas to do others.

#Getting Along With Your In-Laws
In-law relationships need a touch of civility. Consider the story of Stephanie, who complained, "My mother-in-law never approves of the way I do anything. The last time Joe and I visited her it happened again. Just trying to be nice and helpful, I washed all the pots and pans after dinner. No sooner had I finished than she washed them all over again!"
Stephanie is not a newlywed. She has been married to Joe for 15 years. That whole time, she and Joe's mom have silently struggled with being civil to each other. When Joe's mom comes to visit, Stephanie really tries to get the house clean and comfortable for her. But after arriving, her mother-in-law pulls out the cleaning supplies and spit shines the bathrooms and kitchen. Stephanie assumes she's doing this because she thinks Stephanie is a slob and lives in filth.
After the last pots-and-pans fiasco, Stephanie spilled her frustrations to Joe's older sister, Connie. "I know your mother

The Human Rights Act 1998 was implemented in October 2000. Since then legal provision and any decision made in respect of an individual's entitlement to enter or remain in the United Kingdom has had to be compatible with the requirements of each of the rights set out in the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (ECHR). Similarly, immigration law which predated the Human Rights Act has been placed under a legal microscope to ensure that it is human rights compliant.
Most importantly, anyone whose application for permission to enter or to remain in the UK is refused has been able, since the Human Rights Act was implemented, to appeal against the decision refusing his or her application on the basis that the decision breaches his or her human rights. This has led to a substantial body of case law from the senior courts in the United Kingdom. This law is based on judgements of the European Court of Human Rights - but as the principles in

#Get a divorce.
You can get a divorce if you have been married at least a year and your relationship has permanently broken down.
You must have a marriage that is legally recognised in the UK, and have a permanent home in England or Wales.
There are 3 main steps to getting divorced:
File a divorce petition - you have to apply to the court for permission to divorce, and show reasons why you want the marriage to end.
Apply for a decree nisi - if your spouse agrees to the petition, you’ll get a document saying there’s no reason you can’t divorce.
Apply for a decree absolute - this legally ends your marriage - you need to wait 6 weeks after you get the decree nisi before you can apply.
Arrange your own divorce
You may be able to arrange your own divorce without involving solicitors if you agree on:
- the reasons for a divorce
- how you’ll look after any children
- how you’ll split up money, property

Rental laws protect tenants from many types of landlord fraud. Unfortunately, there are some landlords who make more money scamming tenants than renting apartments. Knowing what to look for can help you avoid trouble and recover any money you lose.
1. Security Deposit
The bulk of the complaints from tenants in the area of landlord fraud comes from the landlord withholding some of all of the security deposit after the tenant moves out. Rental laws dedicate what the landlord can take out of the security deposit as reimbursement for cleaning, repairs and other expenses, as well as how soon to return all or some of the security deposit. However, some landlords never intend to return the security deposit and use the following ways to hold on to the money:
- Excessive cleaning charges: They clean the apartment themselves and charge you for much or all of the deposit
- Exaggerated claims of damage: For example, charging

#Gingrich’s book-selling efforts test campaign laws - The Washington Post
You would never know on the campaign trail that Newt Gingrich is no longer at the helm of his for-profit enterprise. There, his presidential candidate activities and book-selling business mingle as one.
In a hotel ballroom in Naples, Fla. last month, Gingrich regaled political supporters with a rousing stump speech — then sidled over to a table in the corner to sell books. In Charleston, S.C. a few days later, hundreds of fans crammed into a historic theater to listen to his pitch to be the next president — then lined up in the lobby to buy books.
The story is the same virtually everywhere Gingrich goes: a political speech here, a book-signing there — often in the same place. And Gingrich isn’t just selling one book. He has produced nonfiction, novels and documentary movies, and his wife, Callista, recently wrote a children’s book that she sells just about everywhere they go.

#Get online law degree information and advice here.
An online law degree is a degree that is granted to an individual who successfully manages to complete all required courses in the study of law. In the United States a law degree is referred to as Juris Doctor (JD) whereas in Canada, Australia and an assortment of Commonwealth countries, it is called a Bachelor of Laws (abbreviated to LL.B.). For those who cannot commit themselves to full time study at a conventional law school, studying for an online degree is the way to go.
Many law schools offer the Juris Doctor degree or online law degree to be done completely via the Internet with no need to set foot in a real law school. The schools that offer an online law degree to students do so with the combination of state-of-the-art technology and Internet-adaptive technologies. An online law degree makes it possible for a student to consider many career options upon graduation. After successfully finishing the online law degre

On some vessels as part of company policy you have to list all meds you are on in addition to other legal questions such as have you hurt yourself since your last time off or do you have a twic, ect, ect.
What I am wondering is are these sheets even legal?
For a company to ask you what kinds of meds you are on is ok. That is why you take a physical with their doctor where you list any meds and or medical conditions. From there it is decided if you are fit for duty.
Same goes for the coast guard.
Not all companies use the standard Coast Guard form for their physicals. Some companies take it step farther than the coast guard basic physical form and requirements because they will be insuring your health and your life.
I understand there are many crew members that we have to keep things simple stupid for and they need to answer a questonaire about whether they are taking a drug that might affect their ability to do the job safely or may have hurt

The Combined JD/PhD (Philosophy) Program enables students to pursue a profound investigation of the complex issues that lie at the intersection between law and philosophy.
The program allows students to complete the two degrees one year faster than if they were pursued separately. At the end of that period, the student will have completed the JD degree and reached the dissertation stage of the PhD in philosophy.
Admission to the PhD program requires either a four-year bachelor's degree or a Master's degree in philosophy, from a recognized university. A student seeking admission on the basis of a four-year bachelor's degree must have completed at least six full courses in philosophy (twelve semester courses), with minimum average grades of B+ in the applicants' overall program and A- in the philosophy courses. A student seeking admission on the basis of a master's degree in philosophy must have an average grade of at least an A- in that program.
