Smart Services
Of course, there is more to say. Much more. But if you want to boil it all down to its essence, that’s why our company exists.
That’s what we do.
If you’re like most, you have some immediate questions. Like “How do you do that?” and “How much does it cost?” (always a popular question ) and “How can I be sure it will work?” (you can’t, but this might make you feel better. )
Here’s how we think you should proceed. You should start by reading a very short article entitled “Ten Reasons Lawyers Don’t Do Marketing. ” Then you might want to see some examples of our work, or watch one of Mark Merenda’s videos on law firm marketing . After that, you should read the stories of some of our clients. And then you might want to contact us .
However, we know our audience, and most of them don’t have the time or patience for the steps above — at least not as a first step. If you fall into that group,

#Newton - s First Law (Law of Inertia)
Newton s First Law (Law of Inertia)
Let's restate Newton's first law in everyday terms:
An object at rest will stay at rest, forever, as long as nothing pushes or pulls on it. An object in motion will stay in motion, traveling in a straight line, forever, until something pushes or pulls on it.
The forever part is difficult to swallow sometimes. But imagine that you have three ramps set up as shown below. Also imagine that the ramps are infinitely long and infinitely smooth. You let a marble roll down the first ramp, which is set at a slight incline. The marble speeds up on its way down the ramp. Now, you give a gentle push to the marble going uphill on the second ramp. It slows down as it goes up. Finally, you push a marble on a ramp that represents the middle state between the first two -- in other words, a ramp that is perfectly horizontal. In this case, the marble will neither slow down nor speed up. In fact

The car's windshield must not have any tinting applied to it except for a narrow band across the top that vehicle manufacturers call the "AS-1 line." Mississippi highway patrol officers assess tinted auto glass by measuring each vehicle's visible light transmission percentage. If the tinting fails to let more than 28 percent of the light in, the vehicle won't receive a state vehicle inspection sticker.

#Novus University Law School turning out - sham - degrees
MORE ON:
Touro College claims an online-only school is turning out graduates with phony law degrees, according to a lawsuit.
Marshall Islands-based Novus University Law School “engaged in false, deceptive, misleading and unfair practices by representing itself to be a bona fide foreign law school,” Touro claims in Manhattan Supreme Court papers.
Touro — itself once embroiled in a grade-changing scandal — says Novus collected tuition from students but “conferred worthless law degrees,” according to court papers filed last week.
Authorities in Texas and Oregon have already declared law degrees from Novus invalid, and Touro is asking a judge to declare the school a diploma mill.
“Novus graduates often apply and are erroneously accepted to American Bar Association-accredited programs,” Touro charged.
Touro said it made the discovery when it became embroiled in “meritless litigati

The organized system of law and government now in force in Australia is historically dependent for its legal validity on a series of British statutes. notably including the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act 1900. The authority of the United Kingdom Parliament to enact those statutes depended on the acquisition of the Australian continent as a territorial possession of the British Crown .
Although the laws of the Australian colonies differed from England in many respects from the beginnings of white settlement, the underlying patterns of thought reflect the common law tradition as received from Britain .

The SCP was created in 1998 to serve as a forum to discuss issues, facilitate coordination and provide guidance concerning the progressive international development of patent law. By dealing with clusters of interlocking issues rather than working in isolation on single issues, it is intended to provide member states with an effective mechanism for setting priorities and allocating resources, and ensure the coordination and continuity of interrelated, on-going work.
1998-2000
Since the negotiations on the draft Substantive Patent Law Treaty (SPLT) were put on hold in 2006, the main focus of the work of the SCP has been on building a technical and legal resource base from which to hold informed discussions in order to develop a work program. Therefore, a series of documents elaborating various aspects of patent law were produced and discussed at the subsequent sessions of the SCP.
At the twelfth session in , the Report on the International Patent System . fo

#Obama signs largest healthcare bill since Obamacare into law
President Barack Obama has signed into law the largest healthcare bill since the Affordable Care Act was passed five years ago. It fixes the way Medicare doctors are reimbursed, fills in a funding gap and extends a popular children’s insurance program.
Known as the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015, the $214 billion bill marked a rare moment of bipartisanship in Congress, where Democrats and Republicans combined to overwhelmingly send it to the president’s desk.
The bill establishes a new way to pay doctors who treat Medicare patients, revising a flawed and unpopular 1997 law that aimed to cut reimbursements but ended up scheduling large enough reductions that many physicians threatened to leave the program.
As a result, Congress has voted to keep the cuts from taking place 17 separate times since 2002. If this bill had not passed or lawmakers had otherwise not blocked the cuts,

Oklahoma residents have been looking for ways to protect themselves after an alarming and unprecedented number of earthquakes—widely believed to be a direct result of oil and gas drilling operations —have rocked the state over the last year. But now, Reuters reports. state lawmakers are finalizing legislation to actually block towns and cities from enacting their own local bans or regulations on drilling activity.
Spurred by the jobs and economic rewards created by drilling, Oklahoma’s politicians have been happy to aid the energy industry in its attempts to silence critics and cover up the connection between seismic activity and the disposal of byproducts from natural gas production. But the mind-blowing 600 percent increase in tremors is becoming more a

Despite the fact that accountants spend their days working with numbers, the job does not involve as much math as one might think.
The advance of technology has taken a lot of the executing of tasks out of the hands of accountants and into the hands of machines. That has made accountants fit more into the role of trusted business advisors, Chris Ekimoff, manager of investigations and forensics for the internal audit department at Hilton Worldwide, said in an interview with U.S. News .

Branch of law governing the creation and operation of administrative agencies. Of special importance are the powers granted to administrative agencies, the substantive rules that such agencies make, and the legal relationships between such agencies, other government bodies, and the public at large.
Administrative law encompasses laws and legal principles governing the administration and regulation of government agencies (both Federal and state). Such agencies are delegated power by Congress (or in the case of a state agency, the state legislature ) to act as agents for the executive. Generally, administrative agencies are created to protect a public interest rather than to vindicate private rights.
Governmental agencies must act within Constitutional parameters. These and other limits have been codified into statutes such as the Federal Administrative Procedure Act (FAPA) and state analogs.
