#Carl Albert State College To Offer Health-Related Degree Online Carl Albert State College, with locations in Poteau and Sallisaw, announced this week it will offer online degrees this fall in health information technology. “We are really excited to announce this program can be completed as an online degree plan,” college Vice President for Academics Jason Morrison said. “This degree prepares students to be medical records and health information technicians.” The degree plan was developed by the program’s director, JLynn Smith. “Our tuition is less than half the cost of for-profit career colleges,” Morrison said, “and there is no increased out-of-state tuition costs. Working students can complete this degree and continue to be employed, and obviously it can be done from anywhere since it is online.” According to the college, the degree could lead to traditional roles like director of health information management, medical coder, release of information specialist or emerging roles like health data analyst, privacy officer, chief knowledge officer and more.
