The Juris Doctor program at KU Law prepares students to be outstanding members of the legal profession, well educated in the law, with a commitment to public service and professional achievement. A rigorous and engaging curriculum challenges students to solve problems thoughtfully and analytically. Required courses lay a solid foundation in the general principles of law and its practice in a changing legal environment, while a broad array of upper-level offerings empower students to tailor an education to fit their unique interests.

KU Law students develop their expertise in the classroom and in the field, perfecting legal analysis and writing, developing professional skills, and then putting their knowledge to work on real cases through one of the most extensive clinical and externship programs in the nation.
