The team at Newbold Solicitors are talented and dynamic, yet extremely professional. Each member of our team is trained to deal with the many issues faced by our clients to the highest level.

The aim of everyone here at Newbold is to establish a leading UK practice by ensuring that the firm’s risk management and client care is second to none. All Newbold Solicitors and staff are overseen by experienced Partners Catherine Harland-Watkins and Maurice Thompson.

Catherine Watkins

About Catherine Watkins

Catherine originally completed her articles in a Cardiff city centre law firm in 1994; she was enrolled as a solicitor in 1996 and opened her own law firm in 1998. Catherine went on to commence Brendons solicitors and then in 2012, incorporated Newbold Solicitors.

In 2011 Catherine was a finalist in ‘Best woman in business’ and it 2012 was runner up in ‘best woman in law’. Catherine is regarded as one of the country’s leading landlord and tenant specialists. On a Wednesday she can be located in the Cardiff University of Wales pro-bono legal clinic where she supervises the students providing free legal advice to the public who cannot otherwise afford legal representation.

Catherine enjoys not only the landlord and tenant side of the law, but has a keen interest in all business matters. Catherine has the equivalent of a degree in business and finance and excels in both areas. This is why she is able to provide her clients with a practical and commercial solutions to their issues.

Catherine does not have much time away from the business and is usually at the end of a phone or email, but when she can find time to relax, it is usually on a beach near her home with her two border collies.

Maurice Thompson

About Maurice Thompson

Maurice was enrolled as a Solicitor in 2007 where he completed his training contract in a busy Newport law practice. His expertise is conveyancing and he has developed Newbolds into one of Wales’ top conveyancing firms. He is a very talented lawyer with a large portfolio of loyal clients.

Maurice heads a team of very experienced, enthusiastic conveyancers who deal with high volume conveyancing matters.

He is the COLP and COFA officer for Newbolds and supervises accounts on a daily basis. He is a personable and enigmatic leader who is at the very top of his profession.

Maurice has very little time to relax, but when he does, he loves spending it with his young family and improving his golf skills.

Tracy Noyce

About Tracy Noyce

Tracy joined Newbolds in 2013, having worked as an accounts manager for 30 years. Tracy is a bright, enthusiastic and motivated team leader who works with the partners to ensure that the firm is compliant in all regulatory matters, that we provide the highest level of client care and our staff are trained to the highest level.

Tracy lives in the Neath and Port Talbot area with her family. Tracy enjoys travelling and Socialising with her friends and family.

Anthony Sykes

About Anthony Sykes

Anthony is a qualified accountant and is therefore extremely competent to handle all our finances on a day to day basis.

Anthony is methodical and compliant and ensures we are all kept in check.

Anthony deals with client ledgers, pays our salaries and deals with any invoices raised or delivered.

Lisa Summers
